  • Anyone else running with arthritis in their big toe joints? If so how are you managing it? Enjoyed my run yesterday but paying for it this morning

  • Not arthritis, but a couple of years back I stood on glass and severed my big toe tendon (the fhl). For a while I wore Hoka Cliftons, as they're extremely stiff shoes and there's basically no bend at the front of the foot. The shoe itself has a curve, so you rock up on the shoe rather than bending your toes if that makes sense.

    I never really got on with the shoes but they were effective in minimising toe joint movement. Might be worth a try? I still have them, just use them occasionally for recovery type runs - size 44 or 44.5 i think if you wanted to try them out and the size worked
