Not arthritis, but a couple of years back I stood on glass and severed my big toe tendon (the fhl). For a while I wore Hoka Cliftons, as they're extremely stiff shoes and there's basically no bend at the front of the foot. The shoe itself has a curve, so you rock up on the shoe rather than bending your toes if that makes sense.
I never really got on with the shoes but they were effective in minimising toe joint movement. Might be worth a try? I still have them, just use them occasionally for recovery type runs - size 44 or 44.5 i think if you wanted to try them out and the size worked
Anyone else running with arthritis in their big toe joints? If so how are you managing it? Enjoyed my run yesterday but paying for it this morning
