What does this bike look like now?

Hey everone-
Sorry for the sheer lack of updates on this - and the fact that I just disappeared.
I ended up buying a boat, which took all of the fixing skills and time I had to do up. The carbon madness has ended up taking a back seat for a while and is sitting in a shed gathering dust - but I will get back on it when I have more time and access to it!
On the plus side, the joints I have made have hardened up a treat through the curing environment of summertime shed, so I’m 80% certain this will work and 158% certain it’ll be 11/10 dope.

Thanks Thrasher! TBH my bogeys were black for a good few days after mitreing those tubes, so I reckon my lungs will have recovered enough by now to try again.
I'll let y'all know here when I start it up again!

I was thinking about this insanity just the other day. It’s encouraging to learn you failed to die in a cloud of carbon shrapnel - I look forward to more updates!

Oh hello everyone!
We’re back in bizness. I’ve ended up taking a week out in order to build a structurally sound and robust frame. With sparkles. And the ability to do wheelies as well (maybe).
Had to re clean everything up with some nail polish remover, and sand it all down again as it was 11/10 rusty.
All prepped and ready to go:
All tucked in for the night (with bonus epoxied trainer):

Further question : how can I clean epoxy off of my hands.
-

Abrasives. Acetone or MEKK will soften the epoxy, but it'll dissolve parts of it which will allow it to get into your bloodstream. This is not a good thing, as epoxy is carcinogenic.

Got any disposable pvc gloves?
Pop a couple of pairs on each hand.
Electrical tape the wrists.
Hands will soon get sweaty.
Keep the gloves on for a couple of hours, if possible.
Fingers will end up 'wrinkly' like spending too long in the bath.
Some of the epoxy will now rub off, (you do have Swarfega, or equivalent, with granules?).
Other lumps/areas of epoxy now much easier to remove.
If I end up with resin-ed hands, I use the above method, then use the blade of the scissors in a Swiss Army knife, to carefully remove the softened resin from the softened/waterlogged skin. -

I've owned a bike with this same thing, works nicely!
It was a mountain bike and survived Glentress black route with no issues, carbon TT and ST -

Is it tough? I've heard it's long rather than difficult. I keep trying to persuade my friends to do it but they won't

It's not that technical. There's some tricky rooty drops, and the Worm Hole has some big rocky features - I lost a few teeth off my big chainring doing the big drop off at the beginning of it when it ground over the big rock at the beginning. But it's all rollable so nothing which absolutely requires jumping skills. It is pretty long though. Took us just under 4 hours riding time, and we weren't hanging about.

Okay, thanks! I have no skills but will give it a crack anyway. Friend has a new MTB, perfect opportunity for him to break it.
