On the left, turning left, scooter on the right behind sitting in the box, turning left = angry close pass
Left of the filter lane, turning right, same scooter on the right, turning right = predicted residual perceived grievance close pass
Take the short cut, pop out way in front, get the drink out and when scooter arrives gesture as if at the bar 'and where have you been all this time?' = acceptable pass.
He just needed three goes.
