  • Make a marmalade sarnie out of crumpets, wrap in foil, in the back pocket. Done.

  • That might actually be genius.

  • I reckon it would be alright to be honest. A bit mushy, but the orangey goodness will be there, and that's all that matters really.

  • I've been baking brioche recently.

If you leave the butter and egg-yolk glaze from the recipe they make great, non-fatty, non-sticky ride food.

    non-fatty

    Doing it wrong

  • Ha!

relatively non-fatty. I don't put any butter or oil and use water/milk rather than just milk.

They're the result of mission-creep with my regular bread making really – and thinking of a bun I'd like to eat on the bike.

I use less egg than a legit brioche. And I've been sticking in some cinnamon.

  • works but wont hold one's tea hot for many hours.. (oh you brits and your tea)

podium chill was the choice of last summer(have 2 in lovely pink) which was very hot.

So recommended if you want a bottle to keep your drink cooler/hotter longer. it isn't a thermostat so don't expect hot tea after 4hrs.

  • I've just installed the Bike Buddy quick release bottle cage that means I can carry a Thermos on rides. Installation was simple and first impressions are that its a well made, solid and well thought out product.

  • That made me do a proper LOL

I actually got a podium chill yesterday and put sweet tea in it for my ride today - after about 2 hours of riding it was tepid but certainly better than a freezing cold jolt of nuun, by 3 hours it was stone cold - still tasted nice though. Caffeine and sugar = win. And there's something about tea that just makes everything a bit nicer, even if your legs are screaming.

  • That properly made me laugh too. I might stick a rack on it next.

  • Some clip on aero bars would look good on a storck.

  • Will soon be cold enough when I'm wanting to try carrying hot tea in one bottle cage, but there are many options on the Thermos site. Any recommendations or ideas? Something like this?

  • Think this was discussed on another thread recently but I've had good experiences with the Kleen Kanteen insulated wide neck flask - fits a bottle cage perfectly, keeps coffee nice and warm.

  • Thanks, I'l have a look at them.

  • I bought this Thermos as it was on sale in Sainsburys (>middle aged thread). Tea will be drunk then I will report back.

  • The Klean Kanteen looks great, do you use the D-ring lid or cafe lid? Any sensible review on if the cafe lid leaks in a real life accidentally tossed into a bag upside down and thrown around all day kind of situation?

  • I've only got the D ring I'm afraid so can't comment on cafe lid. D ring works flawlessly for me though
