I agree with regards to the ride. But you get much better tyre choice at 650b×42mm (compared with 38mm) and the BB drop/geo change is a bit less severe

10Nm is right if the bolts are greased and the EBB shell is all good. You could do them up more (my SS Arkose BB shell was just done up reasonably hard, no torque wrench) but if they slip under light pressure at 10Nm it's worth getting it looked at. Easy enough to spot an out of round shell.

I am - I've got them on my Day One for a Pizza rack.
Haven't carried anything mad heavy, but they seem to be holding pretty well.
