Anyone know the size/thread pitch for the dropout tensioner screws on a Day-One?
Genesis didn't get back to me on Facebook or Instagram :/ Would be really handy to know as my friend has been having issues with his rear wheel slipping.

Finished my gravel bike. It’s a 2009 Genesis Vapour. The name in the graphic is a song title by the band Genesis. I thought the Phil Collins head tube badge would be a nice touch.

It's funny and marvellous and all that but since it's an early, canti version surely it should be Peter Gabriel?

they do look quite a costly option - the equilibrium disc 20 is now £2k and has 105 5800 and those ugly bulbous rs505 shifters.

Just wanted to tell the world that I bloody love my bike. Commuting Upminster-Borough is dreamy even on the shitty shitty shitty excuse for a cycle lane as you go into Stratford from Ilford. I would like a dynamo ideally so I don’t have to faff about with lights but it’s great how it is.
Planning some longer rides on it soon when my ‘contact points’ are less angry with me. I’m resisting wearing bibs but might have to give in.
TLDR - it’s a great frame and the smaller wheels/larger tyres make it even comfier.

Just went to one of the LBS to me at lunch and was asking about a SS disc with rack mounts etc and they ahh we have this, it was a Day One SS.
Great I said, in my size too, last one and is reduced to £550 from £699. I asked was it this years as in 2018 and was told yes, but when looking for the bike online, as I thought they were a nice blue colour found out it is a 2016 Decade model...
Now I am not sure what to do, to say stuff it, or to ask more off now I know its a few years previous... Its been there while!!
What would others do?

Is there much difference between the 2016 and 2018 models? If the answer is no, then I'd go ahead a buy the bike. If you thought £550 was a good price for the bike, it shouldn't matter if its from 2016 or 2018.

Just feel annoyed that they said it was a 2018 bike..

Complain/return it out of principle tbh

That's what I am thinking, seen the bike in old photos from year after the bike came out and also from that year on their site. So it's been about a while now

End of the road, but the bike + Sora didn’t miss a beat over 2,000 miles. Going to turn it into a winter distance machine on return to the UK. Had the Sora triple chainset and 11-34 cassette, after the first week never used the largest and smallest ring and left it in the middle ring which gave the perfect range for everything out here, including a lot of fairly large mountains. Never used the cage and anything cage on the forks after the first week as I found they were introducing a bit of wobble to the front.

My Day Day One (I got here from @musa) and tbh it is one of my favourite bikes. Yes it is a bit heavy but fun to ride, comfortable and fast enough. Zero problems so far. Re: bike shop. If you like the bike call out their “lie” and ask for a better price. Current model retails around that price but decade one has tubeless rims (check both spec just to be sure they don’t lie about that too) Excuse the shit photo

Left threaded screw extractor:

Not a bad shout, might have to give this a go. Cheers for the response!

Welcome.
In this instance, you could actually just use a regular did screw since there's an exit on the other side.
Work the screw through, undo the broken bit when it pops out the other side and it's just like it was never there!

2018 Equilibrium 725 Large.
Thinking of selling the frameset if anyone's interested. -
• #545
Hive mind, what's the current rate for a 853 Volare with Enve forks? Thinking of selling mine.
-
• #546
I paid £500 a couple of years back
-
• #548
Yeah but Enves improve the overall performance massively though. I mean in terms of Instagram likes.
-
• #549
400000000 insta£s for the enves.

Oh yes
Genesis range is quite pricey this year. Brexit/weak pound?
