Rocky II was on last night - not seen that in a very very long time - dare i say it, was ok until the montage started........

It's a bit daft and quite funny, but A Simple Favour isn't half messy, particularly with the final act. In terms of its tone I still have no clue what it's trying to be.

Deadpool 2. It's what my Saturday night will consist of.

Hostiles - not bad , bale good, but didnt quite grab me, needed a bigger drive in the movie towards something for me....

Also FYI if you buy a lottery ticket next week you get a free adult ticket to a film on the Sunday (30th). Mostly Picturehouse, but BFI/Curzon are also there. Not bad for £2, really

Went for John Wick - I'd previously started watching it, or hadn't liked the trailer (some faint memory for why I'd not watched it). Completely unjustified as it was a total hoot!
Headshots, all the headshots.

The second one is almost as much fun too

Mile 22 - Well where to start... short (under 2 hours) action-packed movie on steroids. Some gratuitous violent scenes that seem to just go on forever. I actually didn't realize this Hollywood blockbuster was rated 18 when I booked. Story is okay, I won't spoil it for anyone here. Feels very Blackhawk Down let's run for our lives and kill as many baddies as possible for too long. Shame. May win an award for most ammo used.
My gf rated it a 3/10. 5.5/10 for me. -

Where did you watch it? I’ve been waiting for this one...
-
• #14589
It's purchaseable.
Tho it would probably be best experienced on a big screen. I'll definitely be watching it again if it gets a cinematic release here. -

Oh ok cool, will stick it on the projector then!

Just watched the trailer - hadn't heard anything about this. Looks totally bonkers!
Watched 28 weeks later last night- knew it wouldn't be as good as the original but definitely kept us entertained for the evening!

quite funny article (in good way) about pulling faces and bulging eyes
when he dipped his finger in that jar, ooooh boyActor says his over-the-top acting style is ‘all very thought out and carefully planned’

28 weeks later
my fav. bit of that film is they escape fiery napalm death and zombies and run for their lives through the greenwich foot tunnel, when they emerge in south london, they literally turn around and run back across another bridge to north london like "south london? fuck that shit, we'll take our chances with the zombies and roaming death squads"

yep looking forward to this. mate coming over from guernsey just to watch it. prince Charles cinema 13 October.

good old prince chuck. yeah i can't see this attracting a mainstream release.

Even as a non-London type I noticed that!

American Animals, slow start, excellent finale. Totally nuts. Short interviews with the real life protagonists adds to the weirdness of the whole thing. You couldn’t make it up, in this case crime is stranger than fiction. Worth a watch.

Just rewatched (original) The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Still just as powerful as the first time years ago. Will re-watch the sequels tomorrow.
Have very much run out of stuff on NF to watch, but all the HK stuff is great, for example Mahjong Heroes (1981)...

Mile 22 - juddery camera to hide what's going on, I just don't get it. Wife was keen to see it, me not so much. Both thought it was poor.
The Predator - shitty effects and space dogs. I was more keen than wife to see it. Both thought it was poor.
I preferred TP over M22, but wouldn't recommend either.
King Arthur: daft as daft can be, cockney geezer pulls sword out of stone. Enjoyable as long as you set the bar very low. Must’ve lost a shit load of money as production seems very high end for such a flop.
Mindhorn: perfect Sunday night viewing, many laughs and very daft. Made me realise how rare enjoyable comedies are these days. Might not be for everyone tho.
