I now have the pleasure of paying rialtas na hÉireann €254 for their pivotal part in bringing my frameset into the country :(

That is so much it might be worth finding out if there is any way to challenge the charge and if there is, whether you can still do that once you have paid the bill.

Duty and VAT based on the value of the goods so either it was bloody expensive or they've estimated the value pretty high. You can provide proof of the cost/value if it will bring the amount down.

I sent them a copy of the sales invoice already so either they're ignoring it or somehow justifying it based on the sale price. Irish government are notoriously sticky fingered though so I don't see myself making any headway on it. I don't feel so bad as I for the forks and shock for my Capra in under the radar and paid nothing for them ;)

Anyway, I'm heading to the post office now to collect it!

They are so spendy :( I thought my brake-buyer career was ended when I bought TRP Quadiem G-Spec brakes for my Capra!

I tried TRP R960 (the red ano ones) and found them better than my red22 brakes, lighter too.
Sadly not the best match for my boring black/Bianchi green Bowman so soon for sale
