are magicshine still considered good? i remember mine was bright as a 1000 suns but also a pain in the arse attaching to the bike twice a day for commuting, sounds like more suited to your needs though.

I'd agree with some form of Moon Meteor (they seem to constantly introduce new models and retire old ones).
The only annoying thing with them is that although it looks like they use standard 18650 cells they are actually custom ones with both terminals at the same end so you have to buy spares from them.

Will investigate.
I think I have a couple of magicshine (or similar) from Ebay many years back.
Was odd, one had female connector on the battery / male on the light, the other was reversed. Can you buy new battery packs for these? (I'm sure mine are lost or dead)

exposure race mk1o is great

My two Exposure Flares are basically dead.
Is there a good light for TT bikes that will fit around a really deep Shiv seatpost or maybe go under an ISM with their stupid rack hook?

Never used one personally. I use a cheap £5 Moon Comet eBay knockoff on an aero mount
-

£95 and I've heard the mounts are a bit shit?
Yours looks like a good solution but you've also just reminded me that I bought a Strip Pro 300 for the seatstay on the ultra bike so assuming that survives TCR it might do the job.

I'm looking for a daytime light, I think that's the correct name for it.
I have a Bontrager Flare R Rear Light and want something similar for the front that's USB based. Any suggestions pls? -

What is the best rechargeable rear light one can buy?
-
• #4818
best? Exposure. I have TraceR but if you want bigger capacity, Blaze.
-

The anodised red finish put me off a bit but reviews seem good.
I'll try it out. Thanks -

another vote for the Exposure TraceR

I have a heavy b&m ixon iq light. Mounting on the handlebar is difficult due to aero bars etc. I tried with a profile design computer mount but it seems to be to heavy for that.
Anybody have any experience with https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/lighting-spares/busch-muller-ixon-fork-bracket/ ? Anything I need to look out for? Is it as simple as removing front brake, inserting this bracket and tightening everything again?

Define "best".

The Dura Ace of rechargeable rear lights.

I see. Probably that Exposure then. If you want the Ultegra I've so far been reasonably happy with the Lezyne Strip Drive Pro or whatever it's name is.

Probably. However, the headset being there too might force you to put a spacer between such a bracket and the fork, in which case the front brake bolt might become too short, so you could need a longer nut for that.
Also, the sheer length of an ixon iq might force you to use a spacer.
I got one of these last year. Used it all winter on very dark, very rough Chiltern's commute every weekday. Well bright for the money.
