Depends on the top coat, you'l l probably have to chemical strip them first but a water based wood dye should work. There's loads of shades of dye. You should find more info on the techniques under table top restoration. Just don't sand them, you'll end up having to grain fill the veneer at best, worst case you'll never get the sanding marks out or sand through the veneer.
I have a pair of Mission Audio's that the black veneer is fading, any idea how to bring it back to black again?
