Sure it’s been pointed out already, but why does Sean insist on saying ‘Michelin-Scott’ on Eurosport?

• #19228
Aru hit the deck big time. ouch.
-
• #19229
He's effing up a lot of names

Any plans Valverde had to ease off in the final week in preparation for the Worlds have gone out the window now.

Yeah, this. I doubt there’s a nicer guy in the peloton, a well deserved win.

Missus spotted David Millar at the train station tonight.
Transformation is complete. I've brainwashed her enough she can identify former pros in casual clothes. Mwuahahahaha!
-
• #19239
to be fair he's usually quite easy to spot cos he'll be wearing a stupid hat.
-
• #19240
She didn't mention a hat but she said he had a Brompton and when I mentioned this to a mate he straight-away asked if he had his Brompton so I guess that must've been a thing.
Confirmed when we watched the Vuelta highlights and he was in the same double denim. -

Apparently Aru unleashed a load of expletives about his Colnago yesterday and blamed it for his problems, Ernesto Colnago heard it and 'it hurt a lot' and Aru called him to apologise personally, but Ernesto remains 'wounded'.

My Italian is not great but what he said was more or less "fucking piece of 3T shit!". It's an old Tuscan phrase.
-
• #19244
He crashed. Did he really crash because of mechanical failure?
-
• #19245
Kirby was said he was saying "the bike the bike" but must have been a censored version.
-
• #19246
According to this report, Aru's bike got stuck in the 11 cog on the cassette, and he tried moving the chain onto the 12 cog by hand, at 70kph. There is, as ever, a fine line between bravery and stupidity.

I’ve seen Ernesto Colnago at Italian races and the treatment he gets is akin to how I think the Pope is treated in Catholic circles.

• #19248
Thanks. Would have worked with Shimano?
-
• #19249
In the bunch? Maybe I'm remembering the slow mo but I didn't think they were even descending.
-
• #19250
Wouldn't have been necessary with Shimano in the first place. Could be worse - he could've been using SRAM.
