mouse, and I think you can all agree he has a point.I think you'll find no one here agrees with that point. TCR is a SELF-SUPPORTED race. It's is about the rider planning, preparing and executing that plan for the duration of the course. As 'unlucky' as he was, Neil's failure to prepare accounted for the majority of his problems.
Full credit to him for keeping going, and I can understand a bit of a meltdown in the mountains after extreme tiredness and some dog attacks, but now seems a good time for you/him to wind it in and take stock rather than complain online.

Per the first line of the TCR website “The TCR is the definitive self-supported bicycle race across Europe.” Sounds like your mate Neil should have done more research. Maybe even have visited the website once or twice.

Look, the bottom line is, a lot of what Neil said on Facebook was spot on, yet he got nothing but pelters on here. Let's look at the facts:
These are things that no racer should have to put up with. Look at the trouble he had getting to the start line on time from the earlier FB post put up by WornCleat; train issues, ferry issues. The rider support was nonexistent. If he hadn't have cadged a lift off someone it'd have been game over.
By way of comparison, when Neil did his LEJOG he had a full support vehicle. This is a guy who's used to elite-level organisation. He clearly feels that on the TCR the organisation & support was mickey mouse, and I think you can all agree he has a point.
