  • I scoured through the Topstone geometry (i'm considering buying one) and i can find essentially nothing in common with the Synapse.

It's more the fact that while the Topstone geometry is closer to a CAADX (especially the head angle and fork rake), It very much aim to a similar crowd as the Synapse alu.

  • I am glad that it loses the huge headtube of the equivalent synapse though, i had a synapse as a winter bike once and while it was actually quite good in terms of discs / guards etc i never really got on with the geo and it gave me knee pain regardless of how i set it up

  • The 650c 90s Cannondale road bikes are indeed cheap(ish) but I'm struggling to find decent wheels at a good price. Ideally looking for a rear HED disc or tri-spoke to match the front deep wheel I have.

  • Bought the frame on the forum earlier this year.

Here it is at it’s current state, but recently bought a new groupset which I’ll be putting together over the weekend. Will post some proper pics soon.

  • Functional road build?

  • Thanks man.

I may have gone a bit extra but I splashed out and went with eTap, just wanted it to be significantly different to my other bikes.

Never used Sram before so hopefully I like it!

  • Tha freshness 🏆

  • very nice! that is gonna be light light light

    are all saeco frames bb30?

  • Early caads aren’t so probably caad5 onwards or something. That’s a 7

  • Not sure if this is known. But apparently there will be a new CaadX launching soon. Shares a fork with the Topstone, which saves like 300g on the old CaadX one. TA etc.

  • really?

i'd be tempted by that if it also loses the cable routing down the downtube and gets a 12mm back end

  • Supposedly that'll be exactly it.

  • isn't the one that's already released what you're describing?

the 2019 one is just the previous CAADX frame but with what looks like a topstone fork

  • Are there any known issues with the Lefties on Cannondal 900sx models from 2000?

I am tempted to get one, but fixing a Leftie is not exactly a walk in the park :)

  • Are there any known issues with Lefties

    yes :)

  • I know of one: A fork leg is missing :p

Having to source old elastomer and tools for my f1000 headshock fork was "interesting" (burnt out a few Google servers with that...) and that stuff just won't last.

Any problems such as "oh that fork model always leaks after X years and you need part y which costs z..." can help.

That it is a niche technology for fans / very keen hobbyists / £££ for shop services can't be denied.

  • I don't think there are any lefties that are without problems.
Apart from the rigid ones maybe

  • You clearly enjoyed the challenge of your Headshock otherwise no way would you be considering more ancient, proprietary Cannondale tech...

I would say go for it. It might work out a little expensive if its fucked but properly overhauling one of the most complicated bike parts ever must be very satisfying

  • Has anyone got a Caad optimo disc?

  • Hi guys, somebody knows the bearing reference for caad10?
