Does not compute.
I can't weight (swidt) for weight weenyism to disappear. "look i can pick it up with my little finger" was never a measure for success racing.
If you're 80kg use the cheap, heavy wheels, lose 2kg of body weight and boom you've saved money and broken even in weight terms. Happy to help.

Surely you'll have saved weight unless the lightweight wheel option is in fact weightless. To break even you just need to lose the difference in weight between the wheelsets, which is unlikely to be more than about 600g. Somewhere between a haircut and a really big poo.

Bike will be some kilos under 10kg unless I do something horribly wrong. And I'm maxed out on the cassette and chainring ratios which is why I don't want to get something heavy - 34/28 is going to smash me. I could spend the difference (between wheelsets) on a new derailleur and cassette but then I have extra bits that I don't need and have to sell again.
But okay, physics wins. I'll see you all in
hellanti when I build a lightweight aero frame up with 2 kg cheapskate wheels@Netakure that's what I thought but there's bugger all out there. Don't want to risk eBay because I need it built ASAP and don't have enough time to sod around with returning things. the ones I posted above are local so I could check them out at least. Bugger it, I'll just get some cheap ones.
