In real* car chat, I mentioned the 'rari above to a colleague and he said there hasn't been a truely beautiful Ferrari since the 288gto.
Views?
I proffered the 456.
*well sadly racks probably are more 'real' but anyway

I'd quite like a 355

Same. But I struggled to properly defend it over Google image.
Whereas he did concede the 456.

I've been schooled recently as to why the 360 is the much better car vs the 355, however that person might be biased because they've just bought a 360CS

There's loads of nice looking 'Raris since the 288 GTO.
Testarossa
512 TR
355
456
550....etc.

Better in what way? Faster, I am sure.
The 991 GT3 is an astonishingly fast car - and without doubt the fastest. But, there's a case to be made that the 996 GT3 is a more rewarding car to drive.

Fucking ugly though with those enormous nostrils and big-arsed rear wheel arches. I'm sure it's technically superior, but the 360 isn't a looker.

I think the idea was that the 355 was just revision after revision from many years/models before, but the 360 was a totally new car.

I mean, I'm not arguing with you, I've not driven either but I'd choose the 355. Give me 12 months and hopefully I'll have had at least 5 mins behind the wheel of the 360 CS

nice looking
The argument was over 'truely beautiful'. Which tbf he moved a bit with the discussion. I pointed out that I thought the design language of the Testarossa through to the 355 was a continuation of the 288.
We did agree that the interiors of the new ones are a fucking monstrosity. Externally they also look more like Jap cars than Italian.

Yeah totally agree. I think there is far too much ostentatious luxury on new supercars. I guess I grew up on the stripped down, minimalist aesthetic of stuff like the 288GTO and GT40. Most these days are the same stew of hand-stitched, machine-turned, carbon and aluminium. I'd prefer something a bit more uncomfortable, squeaky and terrifying.
GTs get a bit of a pass...

squeaky and terrifying
I may be building something you'd enjoy, in that case. I'm pondering deleting the rear spoiler (the one that raises at speed) and replacing it with a classic grill - less aero, more air for the trumpets...

Car problems solved, my mate is giving me his Mazda 3... Needs a new intake manifold but otherwise in top condition... Apart from the hail damage but... Woop!
Now, where did I put my learner's license?

got a photo of the hail damage?

I'll put one up when/if I get the car but it isn't that bad tbh... And deffo not bad enough for me to pass up, also means I can leave it out in the street during a storm and not give a fuck... Most importantly for down here, the aircon works...

Does anyone know any reliable London based machine shops that could line some corroded magnesium throttle bodies?

I know a guy in the Midlands who I'd ask for that - Nigel of Altiss: http://www.altiss.com/

Big lump of 'blue ice', and a sunroof made of laminated glass. Probably in an airport car park.
Where in Kent?
