Great that this thread doesn't assume we are all heterosexual males.

Not nearly as classy as that but I started with this
and ended with this

Why don't you start a homosexual males' bikes thread.

I don't know what this means but I'm guessing you're misunderstanding me. I was being facetious. This thread doesn't assume anything about anybody. James doesn't post in the Ladies bikes thread saying they're assuming we're all women... anyone is free to make an equal thread for bikes they've made for their same sex partners.

share your projects of bikes you build for your girls - girlfriends, fiancées, wives, and daughters
It is pretty well implied that "we" the members of lfgss alluded to in the thread title only have female partners.
We are all guilty of blindness to our own norms - on first reading of this thread I didn't consider other orientations that might have female partners.

Totally see where you're coming from however I don't think that was the intentions from the OP. Lets just leave it here though. No point two hetrosexual males arguing over what is offensive or acceptable to people of demographics other than our own.

Your assumption about me is not entirely correct!

Okay, apologies.

This thread focuses on bikes for girls build for them by someone else.

How about OP just renames thread to "Bike I built for my loved one"?
Assuming those forumengers who are in loathsome, loveless relationships won't feel too left out?
Meanwhile...
I built this Concorde for my girlfriend, started out as a really tatty PDM replica, I stripped and repainted the frame and got the Campagnolo Athena groupset and Mavic CXP33 wheelset from classifieds here.
Apologies for placekeeper saddle, it now has a honey Brooks B17.Annoyingly it's too big for her (not as much as saddle suggests, we had a bit of a hurdle to overcome regarding proper seat height when I took this) so she's just bought a Cannondale Synapse Carbon Tiagra so at least there will be cycling :)

I've edited the title, my intention was not to insult or make anyone uncomfortable!
@dancing james please go ahead and share the project for your beloved one!
@PhilDAS this is the bike that inspired the thread! I think it's great, girly but not cheap and i hope your lady likes it as well!
@Nahguavkire nice solid project, really reminds me a lot of Julia's bike. Really nice wheels, what rimes are this?

I haven't got round to it unfortunately. Will do it soon when I change the tyres for smaller ones and fit the guards.

WARNING: PINK BIKE CONTENT. That's the GT I did for my GF.
A bit of backstory: I got another GT for her, full built, same frame but too big. So I got a smaller frame. The plan was going to put the pieces of the Big GT in the small one but started to buy things and did it from scratch.
Wasn't even to be pink but the powdercoaters were using that mix and why not? Saved money and wait
Some of the highlights:
Handbuilt Mavics XM17 to LX hubs, tange prestige fork, 1x9 LX shifting, Schwalbe Kojaks.
I really like this more than some of my own bikes

My girlfriend's tyres, which she's been riding every day... (now replaced with decent ones)
Was going to do a total overhaul of the bike but it's so rusty at the BB that I don't think it's worth it. New bike for her for Christmas instead.
Veering slightly off topic, apologies.

Can't compete with the above but here's my wife's 1984 Raleigh Wisp I originally fixed it up back in 2012 as a SS commuter with 27 1/4 wheelset. Just spent some time this weekend fitting a new SA 3 speed 700c wheelset and replacing shitty weinnmans for tektro long drops etc - rear kiddie seat to follow - for suburbo - functional biz.

This idea came up a while ago. At the time I didn't have anything to share, I got some photos now!
So the idea was to put up a thread to share your projects of bikes you build for your girls - girlfriends, fiancées, wives, and daughters! I'm sure there are some great bikes around and I want to see them!
Here's my Julia's road bike:
It's a Columbus EL frame made in Italy for a small bicycle shop of Joseph Fuchs - Swiss ex-pro rider who like many decided to go into bicycle business after his sports retirement.
It's finished mostly with Shimano 600 Tricolor group set although there are some Dura-Ace bits. :P Thanks to a nice frame this bikes rides really great!
