  • Has he ever been banned? I know he was fingered as a Ferrari client but so have others.

  • You don’t go to Ferrari for training plans...

  • ...Cavendish ... think that not riding an S-Works has cost them wins in the last few seasons - do they whine about it publicly?

Yes he does - earlier in the year in Middle East at some point - "I know how fast that Venge can go!"

  • Cadel Evans insists he did 😂.

  • Also called the Cervelo ‘old tech’.

Can’t help thinking we’ve seen the last of Cav in the pro ranks. I know people who had glandular fever and it lingers for years.

  • One day an Englishman will win the Tour, you just keep your chin up now.

  • Pro-Cyclist herpes

  • I swear you’ve got an alert set up for when someone mentions Evans.

I don’t care about Brits winning. Cycling is an antidote to every other sport where fans thump the national drum.

Give me a win by an exciting rider over a Brit any day of the week.

  • No, I get an email every time certain threads are posted to.

  • I think I would take his word that trying to race up a mountain on a single ring setup is pretty shit.

Thought he was quite amusing on the podcast otherwise.

  • No doubt about it.

  • Was just chatting with Madison Genesis DS at start of ToB in Bristol this morning. Very much seems to be a case of Sky throwing money around like there is no tomorrow, and and smaller teams are spending huge amounts of money on non essential shit the they don’t really need so they don’t look amateur in comparison, and the consequences of smaller teams doing this over the last two years are starting to arise.

Shows how important it is for the lower continental level pros to have an exit strategy in place for when things go south unexpectedly. Quite a few National and Contintal/National level pros now retiring fairly early and taking up jobs in the media whilst they are still at the top of their game instead of continuing racing, fading away and getting dumped out out the back of the Team bus.

GCN’s recent and on going huge expansion of presenter talent is a prime example.

  • An example of non essential shit, please?

  • Custom paint jobs for national champion bikes

@hoops Colin? I have a lot of time for him.

  • Brand spanking new all
Singing all dancing Team Busses. Fair enough for World Tour teams with big sponsorship money, but it is a huge extravagance for smaller teams.

One Pro have a full size team bus, and two Aston Martin Team Cars.... not extravagant at all for Team that doesn’t even ride at Pro Contintal level!

  • Yep, Colin. Super nice guy.

You would be amazed at how much I have to fight for a realistic fee when doing pro bikes. They are paying for
The PR it generates for sponsors more than for a fancy bike for one of their riders.

They are also normally paid for by the bike sponsor, not the Team.

  • You're right, I've seen more of that bike than any other Madison Genesis since they stopped riding steel.

  • Good to hear!

Some of the team do Still ride steel, it’s just the new Zero SL is just really fucking good compared to the older Zero.

  • Don't know how well GCN pays, but if seems like a good career choice if the riders feel that they would struggle to progress to World Tour.

Moscon doesn't seem to get PR. After his regretful post-expulsion apology now comes out to say he's not sorry at all, didn't do anything, and Sky haven't even reprimanded him and he's only being targeted because he rides for Sky.

    Sounds like a prize cock.

  • Holy David running for CPA president.

  • C'est un coup fantôme.

    #jesuisgianni

  • Sounds like a prize cock.

The evidence really is mounting up, isn't it?

  • I say fair play to him, if what he says is correct: 'The CPA has never had an election with more than one candidate' then it makes it sound a bit too much like a university ultimate frisbee club for my liking.

  • It probably has about the same amount of influence as the university frisbee club...
