It’s a (redialled) 1960s 18k gold VC, probably 35mm. Have you bought it?
-
• #29406
Exactly. Tintins are regularly changing hands in private sales for around £3700-£3800. A year ago they were less than £3000 tho

The dial looks very similar to some 50’s / 60’s IWCs, in particular the dot minute markers. The hands are almost certainly gold.

No but I have one the same (not redialled) is original but non original strap. I just don’t know much about it and can’t find much online.
-
• #29409
Ah thanks - I just want to find out a bit more about it and try and get an original or VC strap for it

I like that more everyone you post it.
Sadly well outside my watch budget

That's actually half-tempting; I don't have a chrono, and the Timefactors repro is long out of production...
-
• #29413
Speaking of timefactors chronos, this will be going to production soon.

That's lovely - I have a Precista PRS-82 which I love (with the NOS movement dated from 1982 - the year of my birth) but the logo is really off-putting :(

It's interesting that it's produced by Ewan Wilson looking like without getting Eddie Platts from timefactors involved? good on him for reaching that amount of money though - that should be decent profit for the effort
I'm very tempted to put in an order tbf, looks like a great every day watch -

Beads of rice bracelets always look so shit :/
-
• #29417
Yes, they are divisive, hence why the bracelet is an optional extra.
-
• #29418
Where did you find that? it's not on the time factors site - how much?

Eddie, the chap behind Timefactors, discussed potential future designs with people on his forum (link on the TF site).
Eddie is notoriously vague about when an item will be made and pricing is usually announced on the day.
If you sign up to his mailing list you'll get an email when it is ready.

Advice. My dad has failing sight, can't read his '70s Omega anymore and needs a super-legible watch. Must be: slim/slightly dressy, prefers white dial to black though I think I can persuade him... but much more than 38mm will freak him out. Oh... and MUST be quartz, take a two-piece leather starp and he hates the look of Mondaine. I'm stuck. Any ideas?

Timex?
-
• #29422
Not sure if legible enough (or what budget you have) but Junghans Max Bill Quartz tick all the other boxes...
-
• #29423
Max Bill, tempting notion but probably not enough contrast.
Timex is a great call, actually... there's a '40th anniversary' easy reader in 38mm, white dial, no date, leather... liking it. Thanks.
Edit: mind you, 10mm thick. Hmm.

I'm torn between backing this and seeing how much Eddie's 1016 homage will be selling for. Might have to wait and see if the Timefactors one is released before the Kickstarter closes...

Timefactors are doing a very decent Daytona homage soon also.
Where?
