Now I can see the left side of the frame it has braze ons for a front mech, older type with cable outer so we are moving more into the 60's road bike
Nice frame then, TA cranks, likely Weinmann concave rims on Normandy / Suzue etc. £220 on a good ebay day?

Many thanks. Not a million miles from him; he (I'm sure not as knowledgeable as yourself) was a at £250 so really good to have your input and for him to perhaps revise his sights much closer towards £200.
Many thanks

Yep, let down a bit by the brakes, seat post, stem, hubs etc which are not premium / period.

Hi guys, there are some strong clues here, but none that I'm able to identify, I'd really appreciate the hive's thoughts.
- This frame has Allez rear ends - "Allez" products were sold by Holdsworth, but ends ?? If anyone says Specialized they can go straight to the naughty step ;-)
- The capped semi wrapover seatstays are unusual.
- It's very light, at least 531, I suspect a higher number
- A tiny heart shaped boss under the downtube to secure the shifter strap.
- Canti mounts and a solid drilled boss on the brake bridge.
The paint is rattle can, so the frame could have been modded in it's history - maybe the original coat is under there and I should have a scratch.

It was here or CP, pretty clear who made it but no idea of a model name or year... this came back with all my stuff from Italy.
Small ALAN frame with Masciarelli branding, in fixer-upper condition.
Way too small for me. In two minds, build it up as a beater, or strip and sell it.
Alan did crazy things, aero industry bonding, strange lugwork.

Record - February 1985. Phew that took some researching, and squinting!

Oh also Campag Record 32 hole low flange, with Nisi tubular rims. These were with the frame.

Alan built a lot of frames for other brands, even Colnago ;)

Name that hub!?

You could probably scan that QR on the hub due to the high res photo

For example the top numbers plus ‘hub’ gave me this on the web.l:
