It still holds up really well to this day, benefit of a simple aesthetic and solid mechanics I guess!
But yeah, lack of autosave can be an eye-opener when going back to older games. Recently went back to the old Tomb Raider trilogy and you can't save just anywhere, only in pre-defined locations (at least in 1, in 3 you could collect 'Save Crystals' then spend them whenever you wanted).
Kids these days have it so easy... ;)
yeah man. I recently downloaded the Theme Hospital again and play it in a teeny window. First time I forgot there's no autosave and did the first few levels before quitting and having to redo them next time.
