Doing a little bit of research and it looks like FB will stand for Fratelli Brivio.
Bit of history on FB-
F.B. or Fratelli Brivio S.A.

Looking at FB Re the hubs, I now believe that the chainset is made by them.
There are barely any markings on the cranks -

The rear of the drive side arm has 16 OAF with the non drive side having a bird of prey and I have seen a similar looking bird used by FB.

Is that a really early cotterless?, I always associate cotterless with alloy cranks, very interesting project.

Yeah and I've been after a complete bike for a while to enable me to understand the vintage parts and how they work on the frame.
I love trying to work out who made the components and what year they are.I'm just the 3rd owner from new (2nd owner was who I bought it from who only had it about a day.

Really nice. Going to follow this restoration with pleasure.

That's lovely. @falconvitesse is ya Gillott man. Doesn't look like it needs much doing for you to be rolling steady. Always fancied one of those Simplex front changers.

• #20
Thanks @7ven and yes rolling ready pretty much, rear inner tube doesn't hold much air but front is good.
Paint is falling off around the BB and it's current paint doesn't appear original as there is a turquoise type of blue underneath.

That is really nice!
The chainset is Gnutti and uses a splined interface.
I believe Fratelli Brivio use to make early Campagnolo Gran Sport hubs, the ones with pressed alloy flanges on steel barrel. -

@ElGato thanks very much for the id on the chainset.
Velobase has it named as a
