Very excited about this arriving!

Really liking the design and proof of concept of the musette, what are the dimensions?
Any thoughts about making the flap and the strip of velcro longer so you can have some adjustability in the closing mechanism?
-

It’s roughly 33x25 once folded over. This particular tarp material doesn’t cooperate like you might expect, so it wouldn’t work well like that.
I had actually made a prototype at the start of the year with adjustable top, from cordura, see below. Thinner more malleable material, it is totally possible.

Fingers crossed that I have a driver and a plan, for getting to Italy to collect all my belongings and workshop stuff. Hopefully that’s happening the first week of September.
Thanks again to everyone that’s bought something. Hope you’re pleased with the bits.
It’s gonna clear me out, financially, to get this closure and to get all my workshop stuff in one place (in England). Hopefully it’s worth it.
A few pages back I showed off the fur trim machine. I am thinking to keep one and sell the other, so if anyone was interested in a Singer 176 head (easy to fit and run on a domestic motor), I’ll probably be offering it for sale.

Oh, also, the marbled paddling pool is now pretty much finished, that was the last large panel used for lining this bag yesterday :)

Man, these bags are legit. Loving the dirty white aesthetic. And the contrasting insides really finish them off.

Thanks. Just finished this one for someone. Totally different feel; soft cotton liner, and - relative to tarp - soft cordura outer.

Whereabouts in London are you?
I should be moving my workshop back to my new place in East London very soon, once I finish decorating, and can definitely help you out with some tarp material. I only use it for templates now but it's really high quality, straight off the roll. Still have a few colours. Should also be able to give you loads of itw nexus plastic hardware too. -

I’m actually in Swindon, but I am up pretty frequently to London at the moment. That would be awesome if we can sort something out!
-
• #237
That's fine, you can take a few yards rolled up so you don't kill yourself. :)
-
• #238
Awesome. Kinda killed my trailer today. Totally overloaded it and asked too much of the modded mount. That was a painful walk with a whole lazy-z-spa miami out of a skip...!
Tarp on a roll would be a dream in comparison!
-
• #239
Totally overloaded that trailer. It survived a fair distance. If it weren’t for the last dodgy bends before home, I think it would have survived the whole way!
Anyway, as people seem to love black, I have an incredibly finite amount of black material. No good for anything too large, certainly fine for pouches, or lined bags due to heat-pressed white bits.
Tool rolls are probably out of the question for this stuff...

I've got a 12m Ozone Instinct which I popped a few summers ago:
https://www.powerkiteshop.com/kites/ozoneinstinctlight.htm
It's 12-meter square so it's absolutely massive.
It's made by Ozone who make paragliding wings and the materials are the best you can get. It's ripstop nylon and then the leading edge and struts are made of this material:
https://www.jimmyskiterepairs.co.uk/kite-bars-and-line-repairs/leading-edges/
I purchased it in 2006 (aged 12) after working for a year saving for it, so there's some emotional attachment to it, but it's no use to anyone other than the material. You're more than welcome to have it for the price of postage and making me something really small (I'd be grateful of literally anything). It also comes with the original rucksack which is also real good quality material, same stuff they use to pack gliding wings away.

PM’d you @JamesNQ !
Few more totes being made and should be available for sale by tomorrow. One is already spoken for.
May have a few plain-fronted musettes made from this piece tomorrow too.
The blue translucent material is now finished. I have maybe one or two pouches and a tool roll to make from pieces, otherwise it’s all gone.
This week will be a bit crazy but one of the last chances if anyone of you guys are after anything as........
Possibly up in London on Thursday. Off to Italy by van on Friday. Will be away for one week, and once I’m back I’ll have no space to work for a further two weeks maybe.
Shed is going up in the garden middle of September, and until that’s up and kitted with the workshop stuff from Italy, I won’t have space to move in the room I’m currently in...!
So, big progress, and soon everything should be in one place.
Once the shed is up, I’ll need to sell loads to pay off the credit card bill from the Italy trip!

this may be a stupid question, do you have a website with the possible designs?
-
• #244
Nope, no website. There’s lots of photos on the instagram @n_plus_un but at the moment mostly things are made bespoke for each person.

Thanks so much so far to everyone that bought things and helped, I really appreciate the support, and I hope all the stuff has been at least as good as expected.
Tomorrow I'm in London for a few hours, and then on Friday AM we leave for Italy. I'll be away for 7 days and then it's a further 7 days until the shed is up in the garden. Depending on electrician/storage/setup/etc, that means I'll be indisposed until the middle of September at the earliest.
I hope to keep enough space to move around the tailoring machine so I can still make some stuff as soon as I return on the 7th, but there is a risk I cannot make anything for a few weeks.
Please continue to comment/pm me, I'll get back to you when I can, but please expect a delay now!
Thanks!

Love my white musette bag - very simple but very practical and comfy.
Will be back for more another day!

I’m also very happy with my tool roll and have ordered a second one for a mate. I’ll start bugging you again as soon as I catch up with the bikepacking trend!

Back from the road trip! What a long week that was...
Unfortunately it was a week of toll roads and almost no actual sight-seeing. Sitting in a van for up to 12 hours a day is no fun. So as of today I have all my workshop material and machinery in one place, but that happens to be the wrong place... I can't move!
Thanks for your patience everyone that has PM'd me. If I can clear a space big enough to actually move around then I can try crack on with a couple small bits for people, otherwise the delay will continue, so lead time remains middle/end of September.
On the plus side I now have a finite quantity of tarp in blue, transparent, and an offcut of printed-grey. Also a few bits of leather, some bright/patterned synthetic leather, denim, and some upholstery samples.
Once I can stock-check and organise I will provide an updated list.
Prices are £POA mostly because it depends on material. I will try to formalise it best I can as soon as possible, but mostly this stuff is bespoke, where you guys are saying "yea, like that but with this" so there is room for movement in both directions.
Phew.
