Anyone have any idea of how many rode all the way up CP4?

So, about 0.3% of your total weight then?

I tried walking up with my shoes off. It last about 100m. I don't have my Aussie feet any more :(
-
• #3055
Yeah, fuck all. But I certainly didn't leave anything at the CP to pick up on my return because I'm fucking legit.

I think Mohamed, amongst others, took the 81 in Hungary where there is a no cycling sign: https://www.frrt.org/tcrno6/r/214-mohamed/map?center=47.34975,18.24377&zoom=13

Tough to make the RD hanger excuse for the hike-a-bike section of the course.
Still trying to work through the suffering caused by the gravel section. Crossed some road covered in gravel chippings and had traumatic flashbacks.

Seems a bit like they can't accept they maybe made a mistake.
If no one rode all the way up it, why include it?
Perhaps i'm missing the point? -

I see where you are coming from, but some might have ridden (guessed numbers) 80% of it while others will have managed 40%. The 80% will have gained time from better bike handling / having a more rugged set-up.
Mike had a thing about not wanting to have people doing it on TT bikes and putting in more rough sections to make people use more standard bikes in order to survive.

Frank. Just sent you DM on Twotter

I can't wait to put 45mm tyres on my bike and ride through a field...
-
• #3062
It wouldn't matter - I'd have walked my TT bike up all the same!

Ha, that's a good point.

Looks like 256a/b (winners of pairs category) did too, this is a minefield

By the way, Lionel Bobb is raising funds for Breast Cancer research in memory of his sister.

love that attitude. #hippyisrightinthisinstance

I know non-pair riders were sharing kit
If you're talking about me carrying that flip flop he didn't get it back until after the race
-
• #3068
Haha no, not that, well, unless it provided you with assistance. Did you hop all the way along CP4 parcours by any chance?
Hang on, you found it, it wasn't given to you. So that's legit and he clearly didn't benefit from it.

From facebook
Neil Matthews Thanks guys..... a quick update as lost almost two days
because my phone screen decided to give up leaving me with big big
problems. Couldn't get it repaired in Vienna afters hours of cycling
around and ended up buying new from a shop in the north. Just about
got it all back up and running after several coffees but I've been
relient on the phone as been using a combination of paper maps and
occasional internet for routing after my Garmin packed in on day 2!
It's been a rather stressful few days and lost best part of 48hrs but
I will be back rolling and cracking on with it. This cap ain't
finished yet!!!!! -

Well, that clears up a lot of questions. Good on him, hope he can get a bit more of a push on soon.

• #3073
On my way!

He didn't even know about it until the party.
Phillipe was a huge help in getting me across the finish line, motivating me through the long nights, keeping my spirits up with jokes and stories. You can take away my GQ but you'll never take away my time with Phillipe!
The guy carrying his tracker had a fucked RD hanger I think. But then he finished the race so it can't have been that fucked. I guess some riders are at the end of their tether and will choose to receive penalty or risk DQ rather than sort it and continue later.
