Anyone got a tl;dr on this ‘Summit’ stuff?
-
• #4530
That article doesn’t say much more than the advert inside Strava. Is anybody paying for any summit packs? Are they useful? Is it just a way of gouging out more money from users data?
-
• #4531
They look like a way to pay less money, assuming you pick 1. Who needs the safety pack?!
Saying that, not sure why anyone would pay. They can't event implement history in fitness changes.
Just install Stravistix, download Golden Cheetah or sub to TrainerRoad. -

So two of my Strava rides are showing up with a cup on the summary of achievements, but when I click into achievements what that cup related to can't be found.
Any ideas what could be happening?

Show all hidden segments?

My friend who is new to cycling is currently averaging 35kmph for hour rides around rural towns on a mtb. With top speeds over 80kmph.
I’m assuming looking at the route it’s not tracking on the road very well and thus giving a higher average as he appears to be covering more ground.
Obviously a pitfall of mobile phone use but any obvious settings to look out for to change? -

Seems to be a bug and you have to log out and log back in again.

So I've got a KOM that just doesn't register. The activity page has a crown but none of the segments I covered in the ride are using the time from that activity. So the main segment page only registers my second fastest time. Anyone else experiencing this?
-
• #4537
Maybe someone flagged your ride. Although I suspect you would get notified of that.
It might just take some time to update leaderboards, I have experienced a similar lag before, where my ride times don't appear on leaderboards etc.
I used to worry about things like that, then I realised it was just internet bike games and it didn't really matter.

yet you title your rides
yet you carefully curate title content for your activities -
• #4539
That's true, as a ride journal/diary (I sound like a wanker) I think Strava is pretty good and the interface is simple unlike garmin connect or whatever, and the basic totals / "important" numbers are easy to find.
Fussing over segments and times is what I was getting at.

Yeah it's just a bit odd because the ride was in June. I haven't been notified of it being flagged and the activity hasn't been taken down. Notice how my second fastest time is the one highlighted as my PB.
Yeah I'm not bothered, I've experienced a bit of lag in PBs and stuff but never like this. Maybe you don't get notified if a ride is flagged?

Accidentally marked it Private?
-
• #4542
I hadn't thought of that but I've just checked it and that's not it.
Meh, it's a one off. -

Click on the spanner at the right, there's a button that says 'refresh activity achievements'
I've never done it, but sounds promising
-
• #4544
On the edit activity page (click on the pencil next to the spanner), there is a tick box for 'Hide from segment and challenge leaderboards'...tried that yet?
-
• #4545
I haven't tried that or @alialias suggestion yet, I'm out riding at the mo but I'm gonna have a look this evening. Cheers for the info guys.

What's the go with segment that's clearly GPS error, tried to flag but it won't let me flag saying flag has been resolved. There's no way it's a legit ride >80kph uphill.

Saw this impressive strava art on my flyby of yesterdays ride:

What kind of a joyless nincompoop would flag that ride?

I rarely use Strava. This is on someone else's ride.
Stayed under his FTP as well
