Lovely chat with some guys in a transit van last night, four of us riding in a group along a long straight road, no other drivers had an issue getting past apart from Mr Gray van man who slowed down and drove alongside us telling us that we were dangerous and deserved to be killed if we continue to ride like that, how we don't pay road tax, that we should single out so drivers can get past. This went on for about 5 minutes, that fact he was able to safely drive alongside us for that period suggested we weren't causing a problem which he wasn't keen on being told, also wasn't very keen on being told that our unit of 4 was in fact smaller then his van. Hopefully we have in on camera.

Right I don't think we have a roadsafe scheme here in Glos but I want to report this incident to someone. Just got left-hooked by a bus. I came out the station and joined the road at a pedestrian crossing turned right. There was a bus 200-300 yards down the road. I was surprised when it overtook me with about a foot free, then looked up to it had its indicator on. It started its turn when I was still about halfway along it so I had to brake. It then stopped as there was a car booking it so I got around the front and challenged the driver, forcing him to stop asked why he did such a dangerous manoeuvre amd how he put me at risk at his driver's window and he just looked at me and didn't respond and then drive off. Thing was he was taking it where they leave it for the night so I followed him and had a second pop at him. I was angry but reasonably civil explaining that is how cyclists get killed and that I was shaking with adrenaline because of it and he just looked at me and grunted, no acknowledgement or apology. I was getting nowhere so I told him I was going to complain and cycled off.
Anyway I know you can get CCTV offa buses, is it all buses? I have a picture of the rear of the bus should have got a picture of him. It was a Cheltenham Park and Ride bus. If I can I want to get the CCTV footage and generally make it difficult for them and the driver rather than just the usual 'thoughts and prayers' email you get when you complain. He shouldn't be on the road driving like that, I got the sense either he was zoned out after a long day at the wheel, or after a long day at the wheel he did it intentionally, the pass was very close. Fortunately I was just going up an incline after setting off so I was going slow enough to stop quickly.
After this getting a camera. Haven't bothered because mostly nothing happens but this would have melted Twitter if I had it in video.

What makes me feel really shit is just the callous indifference he showed, that vehicular superiority he has and that nothing actually happened. But as I replay it, it was the worst I have ever experienced on the road . Had I not looked up and saw the indicator had I been travelling faster it would have been deadly.

Anything with you (or your personal information) is fair game under GDPR. The bus operator must provide you with any CCTV that contains images of you. Ask ASAP before they wipe it.
I have a picture of the rear of the bus should have got a picture of him.
I guess you got the reg and route number? If so then it should be simple enough for the operator to find out who was driving it at the time. If it was just getting back to the garage then it'll be registered somewhere, maybe even on CCTV.

Stuff like this really boils my piss. Hope you feel better.

Seconded. Makes it 10x worse.
Hope you're OK, @Jimmy_Fingers

Where was this? Bus drivers here in Glos are fucking appalling.

Gloucester Road just past the train station.
Yeah the indifference really got to me, really felt insignificant cycling this morning.
I phoned the company and got a very sympathetic customer service type who told me who to send my complaint to, and I have asked them to review the footage and said I would ask for it under freedom of information through the police if not.
Hopefully they may do something. Now to get a camera.

Fly12 and fly6 cameras are what I use.

And here.

Ok will check them out, its bonus time after all.
After writing about it again I feel traumatised all over again. Such a horrible experience. I think my worst three incidents on the road have been with double-deckers

Yep local buses round here seem to love the old punishment pass

I'd ask for the footage anyway to make sure it doesn't disappear. You don't need to do it through the police, you can do it yourself through a subject access request using GDPR.

This. It was so unnecessary it just felt incredibly deliberate. 15 seconds later I would have been clear of the junction, and he is pulling into the depot, not as if he was in a hurry.

Ok this is the language I need to know, I will use it in further correspondence with them.

Here too. And instrumental in getting a prosecution and good insurance payout off some arsehole who actually did knock me off. Without it, the popo were going to close the case. Can't recommend enough.

Yeah - it was being deliberately run over that convinced me - along with the subsequent utter lack of interest from the polis. Luckily I didn't need it in the most recent case although the police utterly failed to request the footage anyway.

Police are useless, my wife had an incident (assault) on a bus years ago driver told her to stop complaining (cunt) and the police then said they’d requested the wrong time from the tape and then it was deleted.

While passenger in a car, I videoed a driver bumping his car onto the pavement, crossing a line of children walking to school and driving along a raised cycle lane to avoid traffic. I reported it to the polis, along with a note saying I had the footage. So far I’ve had an acknowledgment that they’ve received my report, but no follow up and no request for the footage.
The report was made about three months ago. Something tells me they’re not in a rush to do anything about it.

Yeah I doubt they’re going to after that long. YouTube and share. Let’s see it.

Man, 24, arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a car was allegedly driven at a group of cyclists in Clapham on 1 August.

Not a bad response:
Dear Mr Cole,
Thank you for your email of the 17th August 2018 regarding an incident involving one of our vehicles. I was deeply concerned and disappointed to read that the driver of the bus pictured passed you dangerously close before immediately turning left towards our depot.
Firstly may I also thank you for attaching an image of the vehicle involved, this has allowed me to get the CCTV of the bus quicker, view the footage and identify the driver.
I can see from the forward facing camera that you join Gloucester Road from the train station by the crossing and proceed towards the mini roundabout on the nearside. As our bus approaches, our driver is already indicating left and passes you with a gap which was certainly less than what is required. This is then made worse by the immediate left turn which leaves you with nowhere to go due to the close proximity to the rear nearside of our bus.
The footage does show you attempting to discuss this matter with our driver on more than occasion. Unfortunately, on both occasions this is met with an attitude which does not show any remorse. I would agree with you that you were certainly not aggressive or rude towards our driver. There is no excuse for this type of driving from any of our employees, this was dangerous. As you state in your email, we have a huge duty of care to all other road users including cyclists. This is a matter that I will be taking seriously and I will be speaking to the driver of this vehicle as a matter of urgency.
Please accept my apologies for any distress caused and thank you for taking the time to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
Watched a Merc driver OV14 EHG pretty much drive into the back of 3 cyclists at the Imax roudabout this morning. No beeping just drove at them causing the female cyclist to scream and just about stay upright. How do I report now, is roadsafe working?
