Got the itch for a new axe, after 6 years of happily playing what I have. The rickenbacker is going out, something classic like a 330 or 335 is coming in. Not entirely sure what yet as weighing them up.
I've noticed that I tend to buy the same types of guitar over time and just upgrade to higher spec/priced ones:
Started with a cheapo Westfield Sunburst Les Paul - that was given away and a couple of years later I bought a full fat Gibson sunburst Les Paul.
Had an Epiphone Dot in Cherry about 7 years ago - whichever of the 330 or 335 I get, it'll be in cherry too.
Guess thats what I like. The Rick was gorgeous, but it never really suited me. Much like my old white Jag which was also gorgeous, but didn't fit me right. That got flogged and replaced with the cherry dot, thinking about it.
