Why did pedaled pull out of the tcr?
-

How about numbered and logoed skinsuits for all riders? Big numbers on the back like football or rugby shirts. Possibly names as well. That would be a good look and, if they were all made in one size that was either too large or too small for everyone, it would add to the challenge.

Why did pedaled pull out of the tcr?
Presumably because their sponsorship went unnoticed.

I vote for something like these to be the SRMR race hats/kalpaks

Who ran the checkpoints then?
Lezyne, Apidura, Kinesis and..?
-
• #2182
I meant title sponsor. Not checkpoint.
I think these races are best without a title sponsor anyway. Just more to the spirit of it. Yes we should all make money, but nicer without a title sponsor.

It is kind of weird that we pay to be there and then we are kind of representing the sponsors, as racers in their event. Wearing their logo. But sure, the entry fees are not that much and it's great that they have been able to make the event as well organised as it is.

I don’t wear the cap.
I get it both ways. But race needs money to survive and people that work for it deserve to be paid and not below minimum wage. So I’m all for commercialisation, done right.
No one should work for nothing, and the race needs money to grow.

I don’t wear the cap.
I don't normally, but I forgot to bring my long-suffering Rolla one this year.

Also 2018 cap was free from branding. Best cap yet.
Lost dot crew smashed it.

Looks great!
At least last year the rider agreement said that upon request, you shall wear any item of clothing they ask you to, for promotional activities and such. But in practice they have done everything with very good taste, nothing to complain.

Yeah it's designed as an intro race or an early season training race. I was talking to Mr Wacker about it (the org) and I thought I'd do him the favour of a retweet. I might race it myself to be honest.

Looks very interesting. Think I might race this one.

• #2193
I'll think about it as well, early season stuff might possibly work for me next year.
And it will be flat! -

@skinny you'll then be surprised how original is the TransIbérica Bike Race ^_^

I think they're all getting too slick these days. I love that Tour Divide is not really organised, and the website is terrible and part of the challenge is finding stuff out yourself. Same goes for Highland Trail Race. No fees apart from Trackleaders tracking, that's it. Keep it simple, make the racers do the hard work and scare off lesser humans.
Having a branded car following racers on tour divide would ruin it, part of it is being out there, away from all that fanfare. Each to their own I guess. For me this is the reason I haven't joined TCR etc.
Instagram ruined ultra racing.

When you're riding days behind the front runners in TCR there isn't much fanfare. :)

If you're the kind of person that that's thinking about racing across a country or countries I'm pretty sure websites, terrible or otherwise are going to prevent you entering.
TCR has branded cars and I didn't see any of them for 4000k. Race not ruined. Race much more interesting for dot watchers.
If you want to do stuff without fanfare, do it, you don't need a race to exist to ride fast across a country.
Haven't you noticed I don't notice much? :P
They did the previous editions though... copy/paste :)
