  • Thanks for this. This is the monstrosity that is my cables... (igaro d1 and iqx feeding into dynamo) ... heat shrink?

  • argh, my eyes!

Heat shrink or a cable tidy, plus a stick on Di2 channel would be neatest, I'd imagine

  • plus a stick on Di2 channel

what is this? (i'm allergic to all this di2/etap stuff)

heat shrink -- do I want 5mm wide? essentially width of my cables combined...

Sorry to hijack your thread with numpty questions.

    chants beans! beans! beans!

Heat shrink should state the starting and shrunk diameters. Don't go too small. 5mm presumably will be fine. Or just use spiral wrap

  • I did search. I'm still not clear on what it is or how it works

    I presume it's the stuff stuck to the frame ... I don't di2

don't be mean to me plz

  • Excellent, so could theoretically stick this on the inside of the fork. Who knew! (guess you did).

    Cheers.

  • Sticky cable guides/covers

    I do what I want...

...as long as mum says its ok

  • @r_mash if you're only looking to tidy up front fork blade a length of old inner tube works nicely

  • Got a pair of slick Gravel King 42s on the way to try out. Did a bit of dirt riding the other day and the mudguard clearance is just rubbish, kept getting leaves and twigs stuck in them. Fancy seeing if there's much difference on the road compared to the SKs as well.

Will be really pushing the limits of the BB drop with 650x42b. Might have to hunt out slimmer flats.

    Still no jelleez, soz

  • Did get some C O O L S H I T from so cal though.

Not sure if those will actually fit on the stubby 80mm stem...

  • These aren't jelly beans

Just kidding (sort of but not really). What's the BB drop of the frame? I'm doing 42mm 650b also but I reckon I'll be okay as BB drop is only 60-something mm on my frame. Surprising how much difference 42 mm and 47 mm tyres make to overall wheel diameter.

  • 70mm, so pretty similar to a 700c road frame. 650x42b is theoretically the same as 700x23c, but you have at least 5mm more tyre drop to consider.

So far it's only an issue if I pedal round a sharp corner because my pedals are fat. And I've clipped the crank arm on a couple of kerbs while not paying attention.

  • mudguard clearance is just rubbish, kept getting leaves and twigs stuck in them

    Get a mountain bike.

  • YOU get a mountain bike

  • ATB all the way for me

  • The cables didn’t quite fit into the di2 cover but think I got it in a better state...

    Thanks for the tips!
