Maybe Matt was being chased by kidnappers. Scenes of Hostel going through the mind could make for some speedy riding!

The moving time figures (which can only be rough estimates if taken from the tracker data) would make more interesting figures. The times for Skinny and Bjorn both include a 5-6h overnight stop between CP4 and the finish whilst Matthew rode through (as did Alexandre to some extent).

Could you guys stop with the horror stories. At least until I'm finished ;)

Dibs on mister toms panniers if found.

• #2606
But what if Tom is in the panniers?
Hope they are Ortlieb!Go Tom, go go go!

Poor #30 - yet another victim of R440.
-
• #2608
Yes, saw that earlier, #17 is heading that way now too, will R440 claim another?

I
Hate
These
Roads -
• #2610
But we love watching you ride across them!
Keep on going, you and all the others are an inspiration!

We're not an inspiration. We're doing stupid things and risking our lives. This is not what I signed up for.

Take it easy, fella. Stay safe.

Stéphane #12 is 74 km from the end. Currently in a fuel station. It appears that there are quite a few riders very close to him.
After the awful time that he has had in the past few days it will be a relief to see him finished.

• #2615
Glad he didn't scratch.

That group are the race for the top ten right?

I started a heated argument on FB about the use of suspicious Regional roads (primarily in Bosnia, Montenegro etc) without checking them in detail vs using main automotive (Magistral) roads, e.g. using Google Maps instead of ViaMichelin for initial routing.
Therefore, I made a quick comparison of Brno to Sarajevo to Meteora - James Hayden's cycling route vs one minute ViaMichelin's automotive route. The routes only differ somewhat in the final stage through Albania and Greece. I rest my case :).

No top 15. 11 in now.

Paul Ferguson #212 heading onto the final parcours followed a few km later by #12 Stéphane Ouaja who is neck and neck with #195 Ben Davies.
All should finish within the next hour or so.
-
• #2621
I missed #148 Alexandre Bourgeonnier who is literally on Stephane’s tail.
-
• #2622
But does that not include one half of a pair?

Bad/dangerous traffic? Or something else?

• #2624
So close. 13-17 km.

#212 finished. The others all on the parcours.
Stéphane will finish next.
Numbers seem legit to me. He's a beast.
