  • Unless Matt can keep pushing through, I think I agree. Bjorn has slept, Matt not so much, although Bjorn has gone 100+km further and climbed 3000m+ more..

completely agree with you James, Bjorn deserves the Combative award. Sheer bloody-mindedness!

  • As others have said... well done all who participated. Congratulations.

The TCR really captures the imagination.

  • Stephane is on the move but making very slow progress out of Pluzine - possibly walking?

  • Bjorn has to make up an hour over the last 100 miles.

  • Easily done the route in is horrible.

  • Matthew on twitter a few hour back:

My feet are in so much pain. Little chance of holding this.

  • Stephane seems to have located a bike shop.

  • Completely missed the steady progress of cap#186, Alexandre Le Roux currently in 4th place

His Sleep/Riding pattern is very consistent, could challenge for a top 3.

  • What happened to Thomas Dupin #157 ? Why did he stop for 15h+ hours ?

  • Congrats @skinny! @Velocio, time for the gold logo?

  • +1 to gold for @skinny
(plus upside down logo for @veganjoseph's fixed gear australia circumnavigation)

  • 2nd isn't out of the question. Big shout to Mohamed El Alami, currently 6th. He's from Tangier, which is not really a hotbed of any form of cycling, never mind endurance.

  • he's probably not feeling the heat quite as much as some others then!

  • Where's @rj off to?

  • Came pretty close to scratching in Hungary yesterday. Checked myself into a hotel, ate pizza and feel much better but I think the "race" in me had gone. Just going to aim for meteora by Saturday

  • I think Matt did ride over 1000km without sleep to the finish of TCR4

  • Aiming for a very long, flat bit of land? Don't know if the road marked SH4 is banned, but it's an interesting tactic.

  • Allez Gregory! Phenomenal effort.

  • This was on the TCR race report yesterday:

Thomas Dupin, not far behind cap 2 and 12, was so worried about his cleats that he decided to take off his shoes and attempted to tackle the hike in his socks. However, he lost confidence in the dark with the alarming sounds of a helicopter circling above them in the sky and decided to retreat back down without completing the parcours. He returned to Sarajevo to search out a bike shop, we are as yet unclear if he will return to finish the parcours or continue on, the gravel section left unfinished.

  • Can Bjorn make up the 20km to Matt? I'm hoping for a sprint finish

  • damn, that's impressive (if a little insane)

  • that's still a phenomenal effort, well done!

  • If Skinny hadn't been in this race it would have been a mad few days watching the lead.

  • hippy's getting tantalisingly close to CP4 ... if he's not resting, he should be on the parcours by now, but his tracker hasn't updated for more than an hour.

  • he was looking for shoes for the walk up!
