• Disc brake woes. Flying out in a week to your Italy and problems don't go away.

Touring biek, is to post mount adapters. Campagnolo Veloce 10sp brifters, avid bb5s, standard pads.
Shimano slx center lock front new, Shimano 6 bolt rear, both 160mm.
    Jagwire keb-sl outers.

    Braking is shit at best.
Is this because bb5s are shit anyway?
Any possibilities with pads to improve braking?
Will bb7s offer a substantial upgrade?

Tried setting them up with the creditcard method, which kinda worked.

Will going for a 180mm front help any way? Bieks gonna be 115 kg with me and load..

    Any other suggestions?
Don't mention hydro (have a pair of hylex and bar end shifters as backup, but this should work right? Also the hylex need a bleed and have never done that)

  • My bb7s would happily throw me over the bars in a very similar set up to yours. I had 6800 levers tho.
This kinda sounds like you're running the mtb version. They would behave that way due to different cable pull ratio.

  • Credit card is way too big for a mechanical disc. Eapecially for the stationary ‘piston’. I’m always had to set them up basically touching the inside pad, otherwise you get a whole lot of rotor bending.

Don’t j-tek or someone make a campag adapter for mechanical discs?

  • avid bb5s

To clarify, are we talking BB5 Road or BB5 MTB?
