    Some people have cracked these by running mismatched rotors / adapters, so the piston tilts in the bore, then cracks.

    You can crack them by getting hamfisted with a metal tool, should you wish to reset the pistons before new pad time.

  • No adapter, it sits directly on the fork. Using the rotor that came with the groupset. I didn't touch these brakes much since I got them. They came bled and set.
    I discovered the crack while cleaning the bike. The rotor was covered in oil. Further inspection revealed that the piston is stuck and not retracting. Instead of pushing it in I took the caliper apart and pulled it out. I hoped that it's just dirty.
    At least wiggle are not being difficult with the replacement. They must have seen it before.
