Feel like a massive failure.
I’m quoting this for when you read this thread at some point when this race is done and dusted. Whether you scratch or not, you’ll reflect and be immensely proud of this adventure and will see how far off the mark this talk of failure is.
As everyone has said, rest up and make a decision once you know where you are then.
We are all willing you on.

I now expect skinny to end each and every one of his future posts with 'FML', 'FFS', or similar. :)

But yes, how did that hole get there?

@7ven you've done better than I could ever hope to.
If CP3 ends up being the end this year, it's still much, much further than those of us who are here dotwatching, cheering you on.
I appreciate the disappointment, but certainly do not feel like a failure, you are a hero to many of us.Same goes to all other TCR6ers, the concept of the distance terrifies me, you are all amazing for trying.

But yes, how did that hole get there?
The sidewall of that tyre looks really stressed. You can see the bands of discolouration up to the join on the right of the second photo. It's possible that the threads are torn and it's just the rubber holding it together.
Remind me of this at Brighton Big Dog last year. Possibly heat related / accelerated?

Good point. I was just surprised that skinny's hole looks so round.
I wonder how hippy's tyres are doing ...

If anyone’s tyres are going to be stressed...

If anyone's hole isn't going to be round...

Had a nice brief chat with @MisterTomTom at Cp3 today. Brings my spotted count up to three.
Now my regular food stops are now always includingg 1 litre of coke I'm feeling much more chipper, although that might also be the tailwind.
BB is now clicking for both feet, found a bike shop on my route and see if they can do anything.

I couldn't catch up with 253b due to work and 146 took an elusive way through town but I've just caught up with 148 (20 min behind 146). They took different routes from here on (148's choice features an off-road section), so it will be interesting to see where they end the day compared to each other.
I must say the boys don't hang about, their tempo is amazing and it's really inspiring watch them race!

Thunder reported from CP4 which could turn the climb into a mudchute. Stéphane Ouaja closing on it. Bjorn a little behind.
looks like skinny has a big old hole in the side of his tire, looks like there is at least one pretty big bike shop called Tempo in the town he's stopped in to fix with gorilla tape, id be tempted to reroute back to town and pick a tire up rather than risk a long walk....
