that reminds me - i bought two giant punnets of seedawbellys at borough market for a quid on friday. you can get proper good deals there if you go at the right time. might have em on their own with a twist of black pepper and splash of maple syrup.

Frying pan recs? Sick of having to replace ‘non stick’ ones when the coating gets fucked after a year or so

Anything circulon / analon, and stop using metal implements.
The Aga cast aluminium stuff is nice
Or go the whole hipsterwank & go seasoned cast iron.

Tefal expertise has been good for us.

If you’re not arsed with seasoning and looking after you’re pans (97% of ppl) tefal non-stick and silicone spatulas etc should last.

They can be a nightmare, my gf keeps using metal utensils, putting other pans on top of it when stored, etc... She also puts my cast iron pan in the dishwasher or leaves it to dry on the drainer... Frustrating...

Heh, I'm in charge of the kitchen in our house, so don't have to worry about anyone but me mistreating the pans. I don't find cast iron to be much of a burden to look after you just have to know to treat them a little differently.
I have a Le Creuset set that we got as a wedding present in 2012 that includes a cast iron casserole, small frying pan and grill pan. I like the Le C'grill pan fine but I prefer the one I got from Robert Dyas for a tenner in around 2002. Would quite a like a big cast iron saute pan for going hob to oven stuff. Although thinking about it I already use my favorite enameled cast iron oven dish for roasts then onto the hob to make gravy.
Didn't realize it was seen as hipster. It's just great.

What's hipster? Cast iron? I only ever use mine to heat up corn tacos these days... #protohipster Little Aldi non-stick is my go-to small pan now, its big brother does most other frying duties... I love good pans, I inherited loads of mum and dad's when they moved back to Spain... Still look good as new forty years on apart from the odd chipped handle...

Did some good summer stuff this weekend.
Mejadara and chopped salad with mint and cucumber yoghurt. Lamb and beef meatballs with broad beans and toasted pine nuts. Had leftovers last night with grilled asparagus and tomatoes out of the garden.

^^someone referred to cast iron as being hipster on the previous page.

Didn't realize it was seen as hipster
It's the non-enamelled stuff that has the ridiculous fetishisation about it.
I'm off the enamelled stuff for different reasons - one too many burned pans that completely fuck the enamel.
One of my favourite pans, though, is an old cast iron non-stick that I've taken a metal scourer to, to remove the non-stick damaged through neglect. It gets the occasional wipe of oil and blast in the oven...
Pans in the dishwasher? >>>>>>>>>>>

I have a big LC non-stick that 'someone' (realistically many people over many years) have taken metal utensils too. All the non-stick surface is gone so again, just oil+heat to give it some life every few months.
Brilliant pan. Perfect size and weight for me. Will be investing in some new saucepans soon though so will check out some recommendations up thread.

I have circulon infinite pans. Decent quality, pretty easy to clean and difficult to kill even if treated badly.

I got given one of those as a wedding present back in the late 90s, it was useless... Granted, we weren't great with it but most of the non-stick coating came up within a year... It got binned...
