Carried this on my trailer on Saturday - 2 Sheets of Ply and 3 trellis panels was a struggle going into the wind but when it was behind me boy did I go.

Bargain for someone. Would love to ride that bike! Looks like the photo has been taken in London Green Cycles workshop...

Yeah I talked to the seller a fair bit about it and it was built by London green.
The buyer has gone quite about payment and collection apparently, (you’ve got to love eBay) so I have second dibs, so to speak, fingers crossed for me!

Looks pretty safe and easy. Well done!
I had some light gravel lately, while collecting the missus from the train station.

Well looks like the nightmare of selling stuff on eBay could work in your favour! Fingers crossed the winners an idiot and passes on their chance of owning such a lovely bike...

You folks with the MTBs and road frames converted to 20” wheel on the front for a front-loader, how have you extended the fork steerer?
Edit: also, how have you lined up the two head tubes / head tube extension well enough that it doesn’t bind up when steering?
-

I replaced the headtube with a long head tube and got a 1" BMX fork and slid a 1.125" steerer over the top and Tig'd it up

So I missed out on that ti Omnium, I think I’m going to regret that for some time. So I’m looking at the pre build Omniums, but the specs look a bit shit and expensive at £2060.
So I’ve been pricing up a self build as follows
Omnium Frame - £970
Xt group including brakes/ 1x chainset(no rotors! Wtf) £449
Rotors - £56
Xt hubs -£54
Rims (Archetype rear, bmx rim £40 ?) -£100
Wheel build / spokes - £130
Sundry expenses front tyres etc - £100Bar, stem, saddle, seatpost, I’ve got
That gives a total of £1859
Am I missing anything? The frame comes with headsets (I think)
I like the idea of building it up with with a road / cx drive chain but that looks like it would increase the cost by at least £300, road disc brakes are expensive aren’t they!

Could save a bit on the wheels. Kinlin rim rather than archetype, lace them yourself and just have someone tension them up

I would strongly recommend the extender bar. Also, there's no real need to go for XT if you want to save money (I have the stock-spec albeit with custom wheels and brakes and shifting are more than adequate).

Saving money wasn’t really the priority, it was more about being happy with the spec for the money being spent. I guess my budget is £2100 plus £200 ish for the child seat stuff (better not forget that, seeing as it the reason I’m getting the bike in the first place)

bmx rim
I nicked a used freestyle BMX rim.
It can sometimes be tricky finding a 406 with a hole count lower than 36.
I think there's Halo model people use/recommend -

What the extender bar ?
I know there no need for xt, i guess I just went for it as it what I always had on my mountain bikes back in the day. I was just interested to see what I could spec for a fair bit less that the standard build.

Yeah, you can get an xt front hub for 36. I haven’t really looking into the details of the front wheel very much.

I cut the steering tube in half and drilled holes around. Then I stuck some 2mm tube with fitting diameter in and spot welded through the holes. But on my long bike it doesn't have the same stress as directly in the fork. Would trust this method though.
For the headtube i took tubing with a too small inner diameter. Bought a reaming tool for lots of money and built an extension for aligning and pre-tensioning.
It slides over the threaded section of the tool and is held safely by the small screw on the right.
Because all the cargo frames seem to be delivered with readily machined tubes i didn't find a single shop around my city that has appropriate tools...

Looking at the sizing guide for the Omnium it seams a bit confusing. I’m 178cm tall which put on a medium, but when I measure up again the bike I ride most, surly crosscheck 56 the medium seams very small, standover about 3cm lower etc. The sizing of my crosscheck is much closer to the large Omnium. I guess I’m going to need to see the medium and the large in person.

This. You'll need it at some point, and if you hit something or someone at least there's no sharp edge.
I'm 1.80m on a Medium (on the recommendation of the designer/owner)and I sometimes find the reach a little short. Couriers on them tend not to favour a very aggressive position, so that'll explain the size guide I think.
You're welcome to try mine, but you have to come to Denmark...
Spotted another one of amb's cargo-biek-transporters in Berlin the other day..
