Bugger. Oh well.

I would sell my twice used one if you really want one, I've been toying with switching to a light 2 person tent so the missus can join me on occasion.

Thanks. Suspect it'll be a bit too expensive for me. Leaning towards a larger 1 man tent rather than bivvy now.

Picked up a Banshee Pro 200 for 85 quid from Blacks. Very impressed, and enough space for me at 189cm. Seems really good quality and quick to pitch even first time round.

Did you buy a pole?
I’ve used this tarp with a walking pole at one end. It was ok.
There is a pocket-thing stitched in to hold a pole centrally. I want to try this but a walking pole is actually a bit long to do this (when setting up for a bit for wind).
Are there shorter telescopic poles that’d work?

You don't have to buy a walking pole. Like the above there are specific tarp poles.

So far I’ve just attached it to tree/branches at one point making a ‘tent’ shape. , will try to get photos if I don’t forget . So far it’s been a bit of an experiment. In a campsite tonight and got asked ‘ are you seriously going to sleep in that?’ .

I was tempted with an 11.99£ Lidl walking pole that seemed very short but didn’t get around to dropping in before leaving .

That model is about half the weight of the others I’d seen and around the same cost. Cheers.

If you search for 'tarp pole' on that site there are quite a few more and you can sort by weight.

Can only see this for £107 on their website? £85 is a decent price

Looks like that promotion has now finished. :( . Would still be happy with it had I spent £107 if that’s any consolation...

I picked up a lightweight vintage tent from the tip today! Anyone know what model this is?
In the bag, it weighs 1.7kgs.... pretty decent, even by modern standards..... and it is immaculate!

A Force Ten?

That was my first thought, but they don't have poles like this (i.e. Just two) and apparently weigh five kilos or so, whereas this is 1.7kgs.
I can't help thinking it's missing the fly though.....even though the outside is waxed..would they wax an inner? -
• #1442
I'd say that it's a single skin design. Tie-out points/guy ropes suggest that's the outer, rather than it missing a fly.

That's kinda what I hope....! It's hardly stealth though! I'm thinking, combine this with either my camo plastic tarp, or my proper tarp from my hammock set up.
I've been researching tents for a couple of weeks and had narrowed it down to the vango f10 helium ul2 at 1.4kgs or the wild country zephros 2 at 1.8kgs, but half the price. This thing weighs 1.7kgs and cost fuck all! -

Try it out at the weekend in the back garden - there's supposed to be rain on the way.

Photo of tarp sans pole. This probably isn’t the best way to set it up but slept comfortably .

I’ve had some success with three ways to rig mine so far ... including on an airfield in 30 knot wind! Must remember to photo.

Looking for a new 2 person - bicycle touring - tent. Will be used in warmer climates and needs a bit of a porch and some space inside.
Double skin would be nice so can be packs separately if it rains. Also to be able to pitch inner only if it’s warm.Buy cheap buy twice so will pay for the best.
Shouts?

Christ they’re not cheap. I’ve time till I need it so I’ll set up a search on eBay.
I have a laser comp one that’s done me good. So maybe a 2 verion but also prefer front entrance so you don’t have to climb over each other.
Actually the design on the nallo is a lot better.
If It looks too good to be true, it probably is...
