Mourinho is really oudoing himself this year. The season is yet to begin and he is favourite for the sack due to his increasingly bizarre behaviour.
-
• #145778
It’ll be the end of the road for him. Can’t see him hanging around the PL like some of the other caricatures we have.
-
• #145779
Thats a pity.
-
• #145780
he has gone in to full melt down don't give a fuck mode, similar to his end the 2nd time arround at Chelsea, it's a shame he has become a cartoon of himself
-
• #145781
I think he needs a break.
Him and Gary Neville doing the commentary would be epic. -

Hopefully MUFC are following Liverpool's cycle of relative failure, but about 10-15 years behind. If Mourinho leaves, I hope there is an outcry for an ex-player to come in and take over. Possibly one of, or perm 2 or 3 from: -
Giggs
Neville (G)
Neville (P)
Scholes
Keane
BruceHilarity would shortly ensue.

Keane won't take it.
In seriousness, can you blame Jose for his state of mind?
Buys players, not working out, pep has been pepping all over the place at city, pep has the media (generally, I appreciate they're all hoping he fails), can't buy anyone quickly to solve the problem, doesn't have anyone he can really trust in the team, doesn't have Silva or KDB or Kompany.
Doesn't have the level of infrastructure investment.United will be getting cup wins if they're lucky.

They have a minimum of 3 of the finest players in their positions in the world, De Gea, Lukaku and Pogba. The important spine is their. He's in his third year, if he still doesn't have a decent defender........
-
• #145788
Are you on crack? De Gea's alright but, plz...
-
• #145789
Pogba has consistently demonstrated he needs world class talent around him.
Looks at midfield.Lukaku?
FTBAny other year, united would have won the title? City were amazing, pepball and everything. Jose knows what he needs and it's not what he's got. He can still do it, chelsea last time, but everything is set up for him to leave under a cloud. It always has been. Same as it ever was.
-
• #145790
He's talking about Pogba's twin, the one who plays for france.
-
• #145791
Lukaku
He just keeps mixing him up with Drogba, the dirty little racist. (allegedly)
-
• #145792
Come on now, Mourinho may be a total helmet, but he's hardly Jeremy Hunt.
-
• #145793
De Gea's alright but, plz...
You srs? De Gea is easily the best keeper in the world. Some of the saves he makes are frankly ridiculous and he rarely if ever makes mistakes. World cup excluded...
-
• #145795
He won the league and was voted into the PFA team of the year in his second season...

Mourinho doesn't know how to win with a team that has a history of attacking football.
He's at his best when he's setting up teams to soak up pressure and then counter. history/fan pressure at United won't let him do that. And he's struggling with the presence of Guardiola, and his current success, whose philosophy is everything that Mourinho is against.
Remembered this Sid Lowe article
https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/apr/23/jose-mourinho-the-anti-barcelona-chelsea-pep-guardiola
which references how he alone from the managers who came out of that Barca period in and around Van Gaal and Robson, is the one who doesn't play possession/attacking football.Mourinho works best with an underdog team Porto/Chelsea/Inter desperate for success, and who don't care about the quality of attacking football, but just that they win. Teams that want attacking football and success Real Madrid/Man Utd, and where the fans require those as the starting points for their team, make him uncomfortable.
Don't get me wrong Mourinho teams can play great counter attacking football, but his first/second and third instinct is to nullify the opposition first, score goals second..

history... at United
Oi, that's our line!
-

I agree about De Gea he kept them in so many games he is world class but not sure he's top. But the top 5 or 6 though. Pogba def lukaku getting there. He has Martial who is a massive talent but he's pushed him away. I would love to see martial at Chelsea
-
• #145799
Martial I would suggest is not much more than promising, though appears to be finished at United. Rashford has plenty of promise too, but it appears Jose is not the man to get the best out of him.

I find it surprising that players will want to go to a club where he is the manager. He has pretty much destroyed the confidence of many of his players, especially the younger ones.
Think he could turn out to be one of the deals of the summer - was so good for Norwich last two seasons
