Those mudguards are disgraceful.
I think a Brompton with discs would be good, maybe 140mm rotors. Birdys have discs and they work great. As you said, rims wear out so fast and then wet weather braking where it’s hilly is a bit inadequate for me. Not such a problem in London.
Belt drive seems unnecessary and it looks baggy (likely to get caught/snagged and come away from chainring?)
Don’t know about brakes, be nice to replace just the rotor than a whole wheelbuild every years (base on the average Brompton I’ve serviced).
