In their defence I have had some good experiences, but it is store dependant. Given a choice I’d rather go elsewhere, hence looking for options.
Glad there are a few that are recommended, will have to pay them each a visit :)
Thanks @jonuxuk. That’s not far from work so might be a goer. Doesn’t Edscoble manage that workshop?

Saw a CHPT3 yesterday morning about 7:45am in Victoria with the biggest chainring ever. Anyone on here?

Bye bye 2010 S2L. 18000 miles and many parts later.
Hello 2018 S2L black lacquer black edition. Treating like a baby until I get some frame protection on....

why do you have a cable adjuster on front brake on the old one?

What’s happening to the old one?

Didn't actually use the cable adjust side of them but they had lubing ports on them. Quick spray once a week to drive any moisture out seemed to help in the winter.

Someone who worked at the shop is deciding whether he wants it. Needs a fair amount doing to it. If he doesn't it's up for grabs for £150.

Will buy

Crazy price, even if it needs work. Fair play to you.

I bet that’s Fraser, 70t chainring?

@tom_d £150?! You’d get £600+ any day of tha week on eBay...
-
• #4616
You would see £200+ for the mainframe...

So someone turn up with a Brompton that not only have Hope disc brakes but also a belt drive system.
Got picture.

A Ben cooper job?
Disc brakes on 16” wheels is overkill... I’m 90kg at best and 100kg currently the tim brakes are plenty. I use discs on everything else.
Oh, belt drive is stupid, and I disagree with rohloffs on bromptons!

Needs:
- rear hinge replacing
- front hinge replacing(with the biggest one I was told)
- 2 new tyres
- 2 sets of brake pads
- new chainring, chain and rear sprockets
- new RH pedal
I worked out the cost of this would be around £300+ after totting up parts for the bits I could replace and the bike shop doing the hinges.
It's rusty around the back end (see pic) which I would have wanted sorting before hinges being done so I guessed a prep and respray would be around £200.
Got a new baby and toddler at home so haven't got the time to sort all that out. Would be happy for someone else to take it on and give it a new lease of life.

Hinges would be the only thing bothering me, the rest of replace anyway I’d have thought
Repainted all my other bikes anyway -

I’d happily take it on, love a project!
Pm me if you want to make a deal!

I found myself scanning the whole message with a smile on my face. Sweet memories.
RIP Dmczone
May I put a word in for Evans on Farringdon Road (near St Pauls). Got excellent service there.
Edit: I don't work for Evans btw
