It's all a show, just like with the Giro where Froome played possum then spanked out an 80km break of the last Friday... We all know Thomas is long overdue a tumble anyway.

Team Sky management has nothing to lose by waiting.
Thomas will probably collapse in the last week (used too much energy going for stages), or fall off, or have a mechanical, or get run over by a motorbike.
If he does then Sky get the result they want without pissing him off.
If he doesn't, then Froome can go on a crazy mission to try and take time. Thomas can be ordered not too chase and he'll have a difficult choice to make - a high energy and therefore high risk chase against orders, or hope it comes back together naturally.
And by leaving the status quo for as long as possible, then if Froome is the unlucky one for once (pushed off a mountain by a fan?) at least Sky have got a chance with Thomas.
So, as a machiavellian team Sky DS I'd be doing bugger all right now.

This only works if Tommy Windmills can't or won't chase.

I’d love to see GT win, but I’d probably be even happier to see the windmill breeze it.

That is the thing isn't it, the race is far from over and people are acting like they already won it. The French media are doing plenty to stir the pot. Regarding Thomas, L'Equipe said that riding for Sky means suspicion is as contagious as herpes.
Cool line but doesn't help. Literally nothing to pin on Thomas, despite the Twitter attempts to develop another donkey to racehorse transformation.

It’s just not possible to enjoy, with all the negative press and suspicion.
-
• #1908
I reckon he is Thomas's best hope of winning. As long as Windmills is still going at it, Thomas and Froome have to chase. Which is good.

alcohol free beer is killing cycling

The piss throwing French are killing cycling
-
• #1912
Maybe it's not piss they're throwing but zero percent beers handed out by the pub wagons...

For once I share Dave’s point of view...
And massive lol to Moscon’s “punch”, no wonder why the incident wasn’t reported by Fortuneo... -

Do not subscribe unintentionally to Sunweb's youtube channel. Makes Linkedin seem backward in coming forward. 3 videos a day LOL

• #1915
Considering the swing, I bet Moscon shouts with the same high pitched whine as youtube’s gopro vigilantes getting caught in altercations with white van men.

but Poels was very clear on the subject today
What did he say?
-
• #1918
He said they are taking it one French rider at a time, as long as it's a Sky rider doing the punching he doesn't mind which one, there's still a long way to Paris, anything can happen, any French rider could find himself on the ground at any moment.

Is everybody ready for
SharkWout Week? -

Disappointed in his team mate, behaviour cannot be tolerated.
-
• #1921
Seems he needs to read Steve peters chimp book and see a psychologist. We all have an inner chimp and he seems to lock control.
And whatever anyone says about it not making contact it doesn’t matter, attempting a swing at someone like that has no place. It not only brings him and the team into disrepute but also the sport as a whole. He had to be excluded from the race.

do abcdef and froome have separate tactic meetings in the mornings
i can't imagine froome being too pleased as the DS says right at 50km to go froome you attack and ride for the finish , surely that would give abcdef the heads up and he'd prepare for the attack, froome has to keep his plans secret if he wants the element of surprise -
• #1923
It was handbags! He sort of waved a bit.
-
• #1924
Presumably if Froome attacks, then whoever counterattacks will tow Thomas up to him. If someone else attacks then the rest of the pack will tow Thomas and Froome up to them. It really is Thomas'race to lose at this point.
-
• #1925
Does't matter, it's the intention or implied intention.
He's an idiot.
If mr froome does the dirty on our mate G then its not going to help sky in their popularity . However its a race and nice people dont win by being nice.
