Surely you could rent one? Given that it's bone stock you'd be as well to bring one of your lovely road bikes and just bring a shock pump to adjust the set up on whatever you might rent for a few days?

I can understand why Pauls don't have spare shocks - apparently "they're worthless off the bike", so the only people who could help out here (Silverfish) don't care, as I'm not their customer and therefore not their problem.

Yeah, this is kinda why buying bikes online sucks a bit. It's fine until they go wrong.

Silverfish will sort you out though - it's just the timing you don't like? Fine, just ride it then get it done when the timing suits you.

Hire a bike, post off shock to be repaired whilst you're there; come back to a fixed bike ???

This month I fitted some SiSL2 arms to my non-cannondale fatbike. Got the chainset for £16 +P&P on eBay back in December just after I'd fitted some Si cranks.

£16 is a good price- means you could afford some decent rings to replace those FSA ones.
