  • Great shame Nibbles has gone, he rode that last 4k with cracked vetebrae, cannot have been fun.

    I fear that may be the last of the cobbles in the Tour, at least for a while and if they do it certainly will be a gentler version of it, it proved too attritional, several riders climbing off their bike because of injuries sustained on that day. Splendid spectacle.

    The crowd yesterday put England fans celebrating a win to shame. INRNG questioned whether the Alpe should even be in the Tour anymore, with the fans being so numerous and uncontrollable, and the fact it isn't even a very good climb, basically a coach road (his words, not mine).

    As for the rest of the race I hope Dumoulin makes a race of it, as well as someone, anyone from Movistar (what the hell has happened to Quintana? He's a shadow of himself) and Roglic.

  • Of the 100 odd editions of Tour de France, over 80 of them have included cobbles. Not having them is abnormal.
