Innit.

And Drinkwater....

Yeah. It's the standard "player in EPL does/doesn't do as well when in world cup because of players around them in EPL team/world cup team" "insight".

That Fulham play-off final really was a big game then.

Oh yes. The supposed 'plan B' seems to have been fire everyone in the offices (from CEO down), sell anyone we can and mortgage off all available assets. We have apparently taken loans against outstanding transfer payments, season tickets and final parachute money already. Sold off catering and trying to sell land around Villa Park.
And next payment for late tax bills is due tomorrow. Really grim. -

this is sad stuff

I had no idea the situation was that bad at Villa. Terrible news.

Welcome to the real championship. No money, bloated legacy wages and ridiculous debt. We had a great job done by Nigel Clough (survival + cost control), it takes years to get back on an even keel and it will be frustratingly painful to watch.

Indeed: Micah Richards has earned £3.189m since he last played for us.

Such a good feeling about this new season. Definitely at maximum boom now.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44890499With Chelsea going backwards having appointed a Championship style manager and seemingly about to conduct a fire-sale and United not really doing much in the transfer market things can only get better right?
I wonder why I say these things....

All of which will make for the world's most expensive fourth place finish

True story, he's moving up there for the weather...
-
• #145594
I'd say yes. Now is the time to win something
-

Mbappe can choose the club he wants to join. He’s also too young to remember Liverpool’s glory year, when they did a Leicester in the Champions League, so why in earth would he choose them over the likes of Real, Barca, Juve, Bayern etc?
-
• #145596
Sure, but Liverpool and Spurs say this every year. Do you think the board will really get rid of him if you go another season without a trophy? It seems like every club is licking their lips at adding 10-20% to the value of their players when Klopp comes knocking...

• #145597
TBF almost all of Klopps signings have worked out. But yes he needs to win something now
-
• #145598
Except Karius obviously, but he was < £4million which is pretty much nothing nowadays

this is the first transfer window where klopp has actually spent anything,
previous windows were funded by selling our best playersliverpool fans love klopp to a man / woman even if we don't take any silverware i don't see any calls for his head at the end of the season
i would say we are pretty happy after last season, we've been to three finals since klopp arrived and have been fabulously entertained, from a fans point of view more of the same, cause if you get to a final you've got a chance of winning
the title would be nice though, unfortunately there's a citeh sized lego block on the staircase to the premiershit title and liverpool are in bare feet

I seem to recall differently early last season. There’s bellends everywhere but scouse ones are particularly vocal.
I'd be more worried if we lost Kante than if Hazard fucked off..
