  • Looks like the hotly contested record Kristof is going for is in the UK.

  • If he’s on road it has to be some end to end variant.
Very unlikely for him to do MTB but if he did there’s a load of things up for grabs - English divide, EWE, etc - that nobody has had a proper stab at

  • Wind window for an out and back? Good luck :)

I hope someone has told him that LEJOG is the real deal.

  • Coming to my country trying to take our records. I’m calling brexit and telling them about this pesky Europe. Send it back.

  • I didn’t vote for this.

    Go hard brexit on it.

  • I really can’t work out what record it is though, I’m assuming England is just a misnomer but on a road bike, most records are on the shelf.

  • Around the coast record?

  • Kristof is entitled to do whatever he likes and is a wonderful rider who I have loads of respect for as well as a really decent guy with lots of integrity.
However I do find the little hints via hash tags about what he is going to do a touch irritating!

  • Start responding with your own collection of hashtags to make the point..

  • Start a fake showdown. Bikes at dawn. One record. Two men. One vision.

  • Depends who's rules you use for a 'record'.

If it's a self-claimed "I'm the fastest unsupported Belgian on a road bike to wheelie four times around the carpark of this Tesco on a Sunday" then whatever but orgs like Road Records Association have rules for attempt timings so you can't start two riders too close together.

Guinness WR have their own rules too, although they seem to ignore them/make them up as they go along.

  • "I'm the fastest unsupported Belgian on a road bike to wheelie four times around the carpark of this Tesco on a Sunday"

Ah crap, I was planning on doing this next Thursday. Kristoff is bound to be better than me with all that ultra riding in his legs...

  • Nah, he can't wheelie for shit, you'll nail this.

  • You stay away from my Aldi endo record!

  • 3 seconds isn't really a 'record' now is it...

  • I could have held it longer, but my head was hitting the ground.

  • Ah, when I were a lad that was a cranial endo. Only the most skillzed kids could do those. Sadly my Grifter was far too heavy for that for me to attempt it coughs

  • It would be great to see Kristof take on a serious UK challenge like lejog or the 24. But I assume he is doing whatever he is doing on his Curve, and he doesn't even seen to have put aero bars on it, so I suspect it is something a bit more obscure that is longer / hillier / rougher.
Although wind window does sound like lejog...

  • Any more info on Josh Ibbett's new race?

  • No, is he organising one or doing one?

  • Thanks Tom
    @Thrasher guessed it right upthread.

He's carrying gear so presume it's unsupported.
Why no aerobars...? Seems crazy. Could also have deeper wheels.

  • What is the current LEJOGLE record, for reference?
