  • Yeah I need to get on the home made electrolyte drink, save some pennies. I've used Tailwind in the past for events but for training runs I need to keep the cost down.

@HatBeard - Yeah I'd be up for a beer. I'll be staying at a friend's in Reading on the Friday night so will be about. Hoping for a sub-5 hour time but not done the route before so nav+weather might slow me down.

@Pifko - Oh yeah I'm not complaining at all. Great weather. Must be nice down on the beach? I have been trialling not eating on long runs recently, partly because I normally have a good breakfast if I know I'm heading out but also hoping to train endurance relying on my energy stores without having to eat much extra. No idea if it's a scientifically sound approach, one less thing to think about :)

if you have a fairly recent gps watch look into getting the route onto it for navigation. it's complicated enough that you can get lost in some section easily, I was saved a couple of times by my watch telling me i was off course as i'd missed a marker. my fr935 worked really well last year.

Alas, see my previous posts on TomTom woes. I have installed RunGo on my phone which the organisers reccommend and have last year's route to play with. Hopefully that will be enough!
