Thomson is not the 27.2 claimed but actually 27.1
If the seat tube is reamed to exactly 27.2mm (and given reamer wear and material spring-off, it's actually likely to be a bit less in most cases), then a post which is truly 27.2mm would need to be hammered in. Any sensible manufacturer is going to aim for posts to be 50-100μm under nominal to avoid such an interference fit.
85 alone wasn’t enough. I had to add the 97 too to stop the seatpost slipping.
Do 3T posts measure true to size, Thomson is not the 27.2 claimed but actually 27.1.
