  • Car question.

Someone (not me) has put a big scrape down 3 panels of my car. They will pay to fix it, but it's a 2004 Meriva so getting the paintwork repaired properly will likely cost more than the car is worth.

On the other hand it is a nice little runner and just passed the MOT with no work needed, so I don't really want to scrap it.

Is there anything I do to make the paintwork less obviously crap and more importantly prevent rust getting a grip? I don't mind the paintwork looking obviously repaired.

  • Get an estimate from at least two bodyshops and present them to the person paying. Then between you, you can decide what is going to happen. Repairs are not cheap but as it appears insurance is not involved you may be able to do a deal that's cheaper with the workshop.
