As I said I'm no expert when it comes to Bronicas but I looked at eBay sold listings and other second hand sites, and see they're usually going for more. Like this one https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/zenza-bronica-sq-a/903892822-245-1036
300 for camera with that lens, two backs and grip is fine. If it all works fine.
The question is are you willing to take the risk / are you trusting the guy.
And do you really want to spend 300 on a heavy, bulky 6x6 system camera. Is this really what you want?
Don't get me wrong, I love this kind of cameras, but it's just suitable for a small number of occasions, and it's heavy and expensive to shoot - prepare to burn a lot of money for film and dev / scan. -

I went through a period of shooting 6x6 medium format only. Shooting 4-5 rolls of B&W a week at £10 each for dev/scan, then another £30ish a week for another box of film. Wasn't sustainable in the long run for me anyway.
Got some great photos out of that period though, mostly shot with a Zeiss folder. For a camera that costs next to nothing to pick up it produces great sharp images.

..ah ok then you know what awaits you.
: ]You know if I had a Hasselblad I would probably put up with hauling around a 6x6 medium format camera - even though it's a hassle, even though I can only do that much with it - because I love how they feel / handle etc.
I don't have one, so I'm very glad I have a Rollei that allows me to shoot that kind of photos with a much lighter package.
Also people love the thing which is a huge plus - wouldn't have thought, but literally everybody is like "aaaawwwww"..Out of curiosity - why a Bronica / why a SLR type medium format system camera?

So Im going away next month to the south of france/south of italy and was looking to do lots of landscapes stuff hence the reason I was looking at MF for the detail when printing.
My idea is shoot a photo essay on it and then that Im gonna do a exhibition later in the year and have it mixed between that and the 35mm tight/lifestyle stuff.
I already have the 35 for going away, I'm taking 10 boxes of Portra 400 and then was gonna take maybe 3 120mm Portra 400 if I get a camera but maybe thats me underestimating it.
The reason I'm looking toward them is just purely for cost, a SLR Mamiya 7 say is like a grand which I don't have.
Cameras I'm taking my Leica M6 and my Contax T2 and maybe digital too

Also going and having a look at it in hand it kinda felt nice even thought it was so big and if the images are decent out it im not that bothered with the hassle.

• #16935
why 400?

• #16936
I like the tone/grain of when shot under box speed.
-
• #16937
fair, in 400 Fuji is my fav for shooting at +1 stop.

So you shooting it at 800, I do love the contrastyness of the Fuji 400 Pro even at box speed.
Any examples of it Amey?

I'll dig .. sorry I mean minus 1 (at 200).

Last time I shot Fuji 400, I just shot it at box speed and was super happy with the results. I just didn't think the tones and that where as good as portra for shooting people/lifestyle stuff.

Forget the Bronica, sell the T2, fuck digital, and go buy another lens for the M6!
I'm just kidding.. you should get that Bronica if you enjoy shooting that way - it's the most important aspect of all (!)
..yet a wideangle like one of the 40mm Zenzanons would probably be a good idea if the plan is to use it for landscapes? -

I got close to buying an SQ-A a while ago. I figured it was neat, relatively reliable 6x6 slr for portraits for a decent price. IIRC the 80 2.8 is pretty good. Eventually I decided against mf for logistics sake.
For landscapes I’d look at the GW670W. Again, pretty tough and may outlast Mamiya sixandsevens. The images from these are really special.

Worth having a chat with Pierro - https://www.instagram.com/ppp_repairs/
I've sent a camera but it was beyond repair, easy to deal with him and honest.
From his feed his repaired sticky lens on a t4 before.
