Nice seatpost.
Get a couple more rear lights if you don’t already. Run at least 2/3 and one as backup.
Looks like a good robust setup, exactly what you need. No fancy bollocks, just tested quality.

Yes, might just be psychosomatic but the seatpost feels like a huge improvement on comfort over the Thompson that came before. Any recommendations on rear battery lights?

Thomsons have been rated some of the worst for vibration dampening so no surprise. I have one, I think they’re great.
Soz no, I use usb recharge exposure blaze. Check lights thread.

What's the recommended no of external battery packs to take assuming I'll be sleeping inside every second night? The one I have is a Anker Powercore 20100. They say it will charge an S9 5 times but not sure it really will. Igaro is great for charging the Garmin whilst on the move but not so good for phone charging.

I think that'd be enough. The only thing you might want to consider is having a second very small battery pack in case your main one fails.
If you have your charger at the ready for everytime you stop you should be fine

Wonderful. Thanks Joe!

Marginal gainz
I saw Bike Whisperer yesterday and adjusted some stuff. I need a new stem for my bike to drop the front end a bit lower. The BB or freehub is back to making lots of noise so that could do with a looksee but I'm very tempted to ditch the P2M and just run my DA cranks. Not sure I can get low enough chainrings for them though and even if I can there's another £££ gone.

I've just bought a Lezyne Strip Drive Pro to replace the cheapie that filled with water in Virginia.
Not used it yet so no comments other than it charged up using USB and it made light happen..

I normally carry two smaller packs with less overall capacity than yours.

I also have the same one as you but ended up swapping to one with qualcomm 3 charging as I found the Powercore 20100 took so long to charge. Like many decisions over kit, I'm sure it was just solving a self made problem for the sake of solving a problem.
A few questions I'd still like to answer...
- Hi-vis gilet for riding through France at night? Does the Rapha Brevet cut it? (I have a voucher which it would be nice to use...)
- Does anyone have some Evazote foam they aren't using? I'd like to pad out the arm rests a bit as finding the standard foam stays compressed towards the end of a long ride.
- I'm sure there will be more in time...

Quicker to charge 2 small ones individually than one large one.
Something to consider.

I have two small ones (not a euph).
I like to have spares of everything important.
It also means I can power 4 things at once. -

Rider numbers out tomorrow!

I’m excited to find out who’s 75. I hope they honour the number.

rider numbers expected to be released by tomorrow
It probably won't happen but I'm still excited incase they arrive in the next twenty minutes
-
• #845
I don't actually remember mine. Oh wait it was some variation of 2-4-1, 142 probably.
Got my fingers crossed for a 69 tonight though... -
• #846
That's all good but are you looking forward to getting a particular cap number?
-
• #847
Don't they still do that thing where they give returning riders the numbers they had previously?
-
• #848
They said they might but no promises.
-
• #849
"Previous top 20 finishers may be allocated a cap which signifies their previous finishing position and returning veteran finishers may be allocated the same number as previously - if available.
This is done at the sole discretion of the Race Director and all other numbers will be suitably
arbitrary or randomised. Other requests for specific cap numbers will not be actioned."I've been twop twenny twice but think I've had my OG cap both times.

Chill man. They’re sensible.
I think taking the stickers off the rims has made the most significant speed difference!
