Overcome with football fever I decided a kick about in the park after a few beers sounded like a great idea. The last time I kicked a ball was probably at least 5 years ago so I'm a little rusty. My rustiness really shone through as I attempted to kick the ball back in to play after it had rolled on to a path. Almost totally missing the ball, I managed to boot the asphalt so hard I ripped my shoe. I thought I'd better take a break because my big toe was a bit sore. I sat down and popped my shoe and sock off to find that my big toe was at roughly 45° to where it normally is and covered in blood. Note to self, football is for idiots.
